The shooting of that poor horse, by what I presume is a Russian soldier (I did not see any uniform IDs on him), seven shots, was inexcusable.  The cruel nature of most Russians is commonly known, and this video demonstrates a taste of that.

I presume he shot the horse for food, because Russia is leaving their men without food. 

We ship horse meat to Europe where it is considered a delicacy.  But what a horrible display of Russian barbarism.

Here, Russia’s offensive around Pokrovsk has finally collapsed into disorganized, scattered assaults, exposing the total breakdown of its campaign. Seizing the moment, Ukrainian forces struck back with momentum, liberating another key town and turning the tide of the battle.



Russia’s flanks crumble near Pokrovsk

The fighting around Pokrovsk has entered a new phase, where the intensity of Russian assaults on the flanks has clearly declined and their once grand offensive has fractured into scattered, uncoordinated attacks. What remains is little more than small groups probing Ukrainian defenses, seemingly just to avoid a complete halt that would openly expose the failure of the Russian campaign.

On the western flank near Udachne, Russian efforts have been reduced to chaotic infiltration attempts without any combined arms support. On the eastern flank near Myrnohrad, the story is much the same, with piecemeal assaults ending in abandonment of vehicles and panicked retreats under Ukrainian fire. The larger picture is unmistakable, as the Russian encirclement attempts around Pokrovsk have fallen apart.

Ukraine has seized the opportunity to strike back, and near Udachne, the lack of Russian coordination was turned against them. Ukrainian forces launched a deliberate push, clearing the settlement and raising the national flag over its center. What had been temporarily filled with scattered Russian infiltrators was retaken swiftly, with videos showing Ukrainian units inside the village. The half-hearted Russian attempts to regain ground have been nothing short of disastrous.  .  .

Pokrovsk is a significant communications/logistics hub. The Russians have been trying for some 14 (fourteen) months to capture it, trading blood and materiel for every square meter captured. The current situation is that the Russians had captured a long and slender salient several weeks ago, and the Ukrainians cut off Russian units in the salient.

Occupied Melitopol is relatively close to the front and is essential in supplying Russian forces in the occupied Kherson area and Crimea. Fuel is fungible, so a fuel shortage in the area sets up a competition between the military and essential civilian services.

Putin could be flying drones over Poland to distract from losses in Ukraine as well as construct a false narrative that Russia is under attack from NATO by baiting it to respond.

Putin can't accept blame for the failure of his special operation in Ukraine, so, he'll say he lost because he was fighting an unfair fight against NATO.

Why can't NATO put anti-missile/drone defenses in Ukraine to block incoming attacks to prevent them from landing in NATO countries? By the time those things cross NATO's borders it is too late.

The Black Sea Fleet command has devised a special "punishment" for such "fighters" - transfer to the 810th Separate Marine Brigade. The newly appointed brigade commander, Guards Colonel Oleynikov, is, to put it mildly, less than thrilled that his unit is being turned into a dumping ground for problematic personnel, while the commanders of the naval and boat detachments in the rear quietly profit from the "repairs" of the ships. This is already provoking a direct conflict between him, the commanders of the other brigades, and the Black Sea Fleet commander, Vice-Admiral Pinchuk.
 
But this isn't the first time a brigade commander has clashed with his superior. Recently, the commander of the 4th Separate Submarine Brigade, Dmitry Skarga, was given a disciplinary sanction by the Commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet for failing to meet his official requirements and received a severe reprimand for having service members outside the unit during wartime.

ATESH partisans have announced a sabotage operation targeting a railway junction near Yekaterinburg, claiming the attack has disrupted train traffic and jeopardized Russia’s military logistics.

According to the statement on September 17, one of the group’s agents damaged relay equipment on a section of track, causing failures in the movement of echelons along strategic supply routes. These lines, ATESH said, are used to transport ammunition, armored vehicles, fuel, and personnel to the front, as well as to factories and depots in Russia’s north and east.

“ATESH paralysed the railway junction near Yekaterinburg—Russia’s entire military logistics are now under threat,” the group stated.

The partisans stressed that military trains have been forced to stand idle, dealing a direct blow to the army’s rear supply system.  .  .  .
