Judge Jackson says Roger Stone's prosecution was not the result of enabling anyone to have a political advantage, or to vilify the defendant.

“It arose because Roger Stone characteristically inserted himself smack in the middle of one of the most incendiary issues of the day."

NEW: During Roger Stone sentencing hearing, government lawyer John Crabb argued a point from the original sentencing memo stating that the sentencing enhancement for Stone's threats against Randy Credico should apply.

Judge Amy Berman Jackson agreed and applied the enhancement.

Why is she still the presiding judge??? It's clear that she was biased from the very beginning. This is a travesty, and a joke. For the record, a lot of us have lost faith in our justice system, and this is not making things any better.

Prosecutors never proved one way or the other if Stone had another WikiLeaks intermediary. They introduced emails he had with Jerome Corsi, but didn't call Corsi as a witness.

Judge agrees 7 to 9 years is too harsh, and says she doubts she would have thought differently even if not for "unprecedented actions of the Department of Justice in the past week." But says probation is also "insufficient."

ABJ calls Trump’s comments on the case “entirely inappropriate,” she will not be influenced by them. But she will not hold them against Stone either.

Also says she will not be influenced by pressure from the left from those who want a stiffer sentence.
