Isn't that really hard on your lungs?

(Hopefully not). Right now I'm using 75/25. I usually use 50/50 and I spray less during the summer. I open the front and lanai doors and we normally get a nice breeze and the fumes don't linger for very long. I rinse the counters with just plain water afterwards.

Naw. THIS is where it got real:

https://news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-ireland-closes-all-pubs-days-before-st-patricks-day-11958078

And two of my kids are in Ireland this very day!

Looks like, from the photos, that the hotel pub was open, though!

OK, shit just got real.  Nevada just closed all casinos and restaurants, effective Noon PDT tomorrow.

...another sector of the hospitality industry that the gov't (we) will be bailing out.

...ummm.... there's no getting out from under this.  Trump said we can refinance our debt ... I think that was one of his feel good responses.

It boggles me. I cannot imagine a nation of Micks and not a pub in sight. Some of those pubs were in continual operation since ROME.

It's just craziness.

No disinfectant?  Nothing better than bleach and water in a spray bottle. No way would I spray a package of food, whether wrapped or in a plastic or paper bag down with Lysol or any disinfectant.  Logic needs to apply.  You put the bag of groceries you picked up from the store or food delivered and put the bag on the counter.  You wash your hands. You then take the food out of the bag and put the groceries either in the pantry or the refrigerator or you take the food out of the bag and place it on another counter.  You then dispose of the bag.  You spray the counter that you placed the bag on with a 75/25 solution of bleach and water. Let the counter air dry. Wash your hands again.

Very helpful, thanks.

Two or three fingers in the bottom of a spray bottle is a pretty hot mix. That'll pull stains out of raw wood.

I only use on the kitchen counters and stainless sinks  -- then I rinse with water.  ...hmmm... guess, I should go back to the 50/50 solution.

Governor Cuomo said as below in tweet, apparently on the Rachel Maddow show:
Quote

"I had a very good conversation with the President. I said I wanna work with you. Let’s do what we’re elected to do. He said yes. I believe he’s sincere. More than belief he has ACTED Rachel. I believe he’s doing what he has to do & I respect him for it"

From the video at the link,  apparently Cuomo said (see captions not the oral part) that the virus won't peak for 45 days, nonetheless, I will try all I can for the next 15 days and then, continue to play it by ear.

So, politics aside, good to see Governor Cuomo with this praise.

Typical chlorox disinfectant mix is around 16 :1 (a cup in a gallon of water...)
3 fingers in a spray bottle is around 8:1 and is used as I said to bleach out stains in wood... That is fairly caustic.

Do what you do, your business and all, but I don't think you are getting any more value as a disinfectant with such a hot mix. And even 8:1 (plenty hot) would be easier on your lungs and skin.

In Coronavirus Testing Ramp-Up, U.S. Called Private Sector in Late

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-03-17/coronavirus-testing-shortage-u-s-called-private-sector-too-late
Quote
“We’re so far behind this thing at this point. And the reason we’re so far behind is because we’ve had so little testing,” said Ashish Jha, director of the Harvard Global Health Institute.

“This is such a rapidly moving infection that losing a few days is bad, and losing a couple of weeks is terrible,” Jha said. “Losing 2 months is close to disastrous, and that’s what we did.”

On Feb. 29, after weeks of criticism from state health officials, the Food and Drug Administration lifted a key regulatory hurdle and let lab companies and hospitals more easily test patients for the virus. The government’s tight initial control over who could do diagnostic work has been called a “failing” by Anthony Fauci, the director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Then, on Monday the agency went further, allowing states to clear tests from local labs — a move that will increase the number of tests, but give up part of the FDA's role. The new policy “does carry risks,” such as problems with tests, FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn said in a briefing with reporters Monday night.

China Endorses Avigan / Favipiravir For COVID-19 Disease Treatment
Avigan Favipiravir (T-705) is a broad-spectrum inhibitor of viral RNA polymerase

March 17, 2020 – China's health leadership announced they have found the Japanese-developed anti-influenza drug Avigan to be effective in treating COVID-19 disease patients.

Zhang Xinmin, China’s director of the National Center for Biotechnology Development said Avigan (Favipiravir) was found to be effective in 2 clinical trials completed in Wuhan and Shenzhen and involved 240 patients and 80 patients respectively.

During a conference in Beijing on March 17, 2020, Zhang said the medicine worked for coronavirus-related symptoms including pneumonia and had no obvious side effects.

And on the other hand, maybe they have something.

...Now, people wait an hour on the phone to report heart attacks, Dr. Giupponi said, because all the lines are busy. Each day, his team fields 2,500 calls and brings 1,500 people to the hospital. “That’s not counting those the first responders visit but tell to stay home and call again if their condition worsens,” he said.

Ambulance staff weren’t trained for such a contagious virus. Many have become infected and their ambulances contaminated. A dispatcher died of the disease Saturday. Diego Bianco was in his mid-40s and had no prior illnesses.

“He never met patients. He only answered the phone. That shows you the contamination is everywhere,” a colleague said. Mr. Bianco’s co-workers sat Sunday at the operations center with masks on their faces and fear in their eyes....

Melania Offers Advice on What to Do While Stuck at Home in Lockdown
written by Paul Goldberg March 18, 2020

...

The Hill reports first lady Melania Trump encouraged those staying home amid the coronavirus pandemic to use the time to reconnect with loved ones online, spend time with family or simply pick up a book.

The first lady also shared a message for St. Patrick’s Day on Tuesday, encouraging those at home to celebrate despite Americans across the country practicing social distancing to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

“While things are different this year, and the focus is to keep each other safe & healthy, don’t forget to celebrate special events & occasions,” she tweeted.

People with blood type A might be more susceptible to coronavirus, study finds
FOX News

People with blood type A might be more vulnerable to the coronavirus, while those with type O blood could be more resistant, according to a new preliminary study from China.

Researchers studying COVID-19 in its outbreak epicenter, Wuhan, and the city of Shenzhen found the proportion of Type-A patients both infected and killed by the disease to be “significantly” higher than those with the same blood type in the general public.

Type O patients, meanwhile, made up a smaller proportion of both those infected and killed by the virus.    ...

Wise advise.  I think more than anything, at least for us seniors is to enjoy the simplier things we had before the electronic age.  Yesterday, I sat on the back patio, cataloging and enumerating frequency of bird species.  I pulled out some old vinyl, and listened to old music of my youth.  Yes those old scratches add to the charm and the experience.  & Do some slow dance numbers with your spouse, while you are at it.

I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

I don’t think a single person here needs to be told that more people die other ways than from this virus.

But I believe it is shortsighted to minimize the danger of an unknown virus that spreads easily and rapidly and sometimes has no symptoms.

Overreacting is folly, but ignoring medical, scientific reality is potentially fatal.
Over-reaction does indeed kill people, especially those with scientifically-proven medical emergencies that cannot be treated as resources are diverted to covering a virus that has scientifically been found to have less chances of killing you.
No punishment, in my opinion, is too great, for the man who can build his greatness upon his country's ruin~  George Washington
