You are entirely missing the point here.

Stating facts like it is a hundred times more likely to die getting killed in a car or contracting the flu compared to the CV virus places things in perspective.

And stating facts like that causes one to wonder where the 'great harm' is coming from.  It is not the disease.  It is people's reaction to the disease.

If you say that is arguing, then that is your prerogative.

I don’t think a single person here needs to be told that more people die other ways than from this virus.

But I believe it is shortsighted to minimize the danger of an unknown virus that spreads easily and rapidly and sometimes has no symptoms.

Overreacting is folly, but ignoring medical, scientific reality is potentially fatal.
Character still matters.  It always matters.

I wear a mask as an exercise in liberty and love for others.  To see it as an infringement of liberty is to entirely miss the point.  Be kind.

We believe our role serving customers and the community during this time is a critical one, and we want to make sure our customers can get the items they need, when they need them. As COVID-19 has spread, we've recently seen an increase in people shopping online which has had an impact on how we serve our customers. So in the short term, we are making the decision to temporarily prioritize household staples, medical supplies and other high demand products coming into our fulfillment centers so we can more quickly receive, restock and ship these products to customers. We are working around the clock with our selling partners to ensure availability of these essential products, and continue to bring on additional capacity to deliver customer orders. Are these Democrat voters going to the polls?

No. It’s rational people on this forum who take this disease seriously.

G-r-r-r-r-e-a-t news.

They'll get this thing licked, probably wouldn't hurt to say a few prayers.

@TomSea Hopefully this news is accurate.  I question as France has over 7,500 cases of coronavirus and is in complete lockdown.

It never hurts to say few prayers.

Would that also be near a campfire or wood stove?

I was a tequila drinker before I discovered Scotch which was after I drank a wee bit too much tequila in my younger years. It took me a long time before I'd even look at it again.

It's consistent with other studies regarding chloroquine so far. Problem is, hardly anyone is getting the drug yet and the official line still remains "there are no treatments."

Some of the advice absolutely sounds like a phobia, even if you are getting food home-delivered, I thought I was reading, spray that package down with disinfectant, I havem't seen any disinfectant on the shelves, I have some and then, also. a few things like Spic N Span, stuff that is still suppose to kill bacteria but it's far from Lysol.

Yeah... Don't belch or you'll REALLY burn it out.

Cactus juice is my bane. I don't even like it. but I can't put it down. I smell the cork, I eat the worm.

Bourbon neat is my thing in likker. That and shine. All the rest can go hang. Except my sometimes friend Jose, who butts in and camps out at my house.

I can do scotch rocks. Don't really like it, but my Uncle Johnny does... So I have acquired something like a tolerance.

Peppermint Schnapps is what I cannot stand. brings a shudder just sniffing it. Got way to drunk on that once, schnapps and pickled pigs feet. The combination turned out to be a poor decision late in the night. Now I cannot tolerate it at all. I will be ill. Greeks. Never again.

But mostly beer, if at all. I am far away from my brilliantly misspent yoot. I just don't go there nowadays. mostly sweet tea and lemonade.

No disinfectant?  Nothing better than bleach and water in a spray bottle. No way would I spray a package of food, whether wrapped or in a plastic or paper bag down with Lysol or any disinfectant.  Logic needs to apply.  You put the bag of groceries you picked up from the store or food delivered and put the bag on the counter.  You wash your hands. You then take the food out of the bag and put the groceries either in the pantry or the refrigerator or you take the food out of the bag and place it on another counter.  You then dispose of the bag.  You spray the counter that you placed the bag on with a 75/25 solution of bleach and water. Let the counter air dry. Wash your hands again.

Same, but white vinegar. And I'll shoot it n everything, to include the produce. A quick rise, and it's fine.

OK, shit just got real.  Nevada just closed all casinos and restaurants, effective Noon PDT tomorrow.

Nevada's governor shutters casinos, restaurants

By Michelle L. Price and Scott Sonner - Associated Press - Updated: 9:42 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2020

Quote
LAS VEGAS — Nevada’s governor ordered a monthlong closure of casinos and other non-essential businesses like bars, movie theaters and gyms starting noon Wednesday and restaurants to shutter their dining rooms and only offer takeout or delivery in order to stem the spread of the new coronavirus.

The order from Democrat Steve Sisolak Tuesday night follows similar moves by more than 10 other governors as states scramble to mitigate the risk of exposure to COVID-19.

Sisolak’s order gave thousands of businesses in the tourism capital less than a day to prepare. Though a number of casinos started to close their doors this week, the governor’s sweeping order shutters Nevada’s main industry, anchored by glitzy casinos lining the Las Vegas Strip.
