Benedict Arnold?! Such hyperbole!
You might want to contact the president to let him know that he needs to differentiate between the Mitt Romneys and the ______________s [insert name of any politician who disagrees with Trump, which, BTW, is still legal even when they are misguided] and the lowly voter when he's busy hurling invectives. Just as Trump voters identify with him and consider themselves the ultimate targets of the impeachment efforts, so also do non-Trump voters looking for a reason to support him feel when he disses the NeverTrumpers.
There are many citizens who have a glancing knowledge of all the political theatrics and drama because their lives are too busy with family, work, etc. They're not on message boards, and don't stay on top of all the breaking news stories as many of us do. Still they're voters. If he wants them, he'd better start figuring out how to attract them to the fold. They're not going to be the ones who'll continue their devotion after he murders someone on 5th Avenue.

Indeed, plain people, down through history, focused on family, friends and work,
the core ingredients necessary for their culture/society to survive and thrive.
For others, politics was a quasi-religious activity whose core focus involved minding
other peoples business and the leader they choose often had the trappings of a Messiah,
a deliverer of promises to those faithful to the vision.
Unfortunately, history's success record for these types is embarrassingly bad; the vast
majority being frauds and hustlers. Perhaps, the Trumpeter will be the exception?????
