President Trump is still privately questioning the authenticity of former President Obama’s birth certificate, The New York Times reported Tuesday.

A senator, who asked not to be named, told The Times that Trump is having difficulty moving on from his past claims that Obama wasn’t born in the United States.

Trump led the "birther" movement against Obama, claiming for years that the former president was born outside of the U.S.

Obama eventually released his birth certificate to counter Trump’s claims.

Trump said that Obama was born in the U.S. during a campaign stop last year.

   I never believed it either, the Birth Certificate but although we all know what a ballsy, courageous fellow President Trump is, even he is not stupid enough to throw this BS monkey wrench into his government process, right now, more red meat.
   He's coming up on the end of his first year and has little to show for it, IMHO. 
   Recent history proves what GWB accomplished in the 9 months before 911 with a court ordered contested election, look what that loafer obummer got done with the spotlight of the crash of 2008, Trump, so far, Legislatively, Goose Egg*, yea I know ~ Deep State and a VERY hostile MSM.

    *Gorsuch wasn't his idea or votes but I do thank him for picking a name from Cruz's list as he promised for the return endorsement.

In recent months, they say, Mr. Trump has used closed-door conversations to question the authenticity of President Barack Obama’s birth certificate. He has also repeatedly claimed that he lost the popular vote last year because of widespread voter fraud, according to advisers and lawmakers.

One senator who listened as the president revived his doubts about Mr. Obama’s birth certificate chuckled on Tuesday as recalled the conversation. The president, he said, has had a hard time letting go of his claim that Mr. Obama was not born in the United States. The senator asked not to be named to discuss private conversations.

Why would he want to do that?  He knew that with the press covering for him people who questioned it's authenticity could be made to look like kooks (hence the word "birthers" was coined, to conflate them with the  9-11 "truthers").  He still mocks us to this day, did it in a recent speech somewhere.  He's going to be a troll until the day he expires.
