Friday at the Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce in Irving, TX, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said some President Donald Trump political problems were “self-inflicted.”

Cruz said, “What I’m trying to do is just ignore the circus.”

He continued, “There are a great many people in Washington that want the Trump presidency to fail,” he added, “Unfortunately, some of the damage is self-inflicted. I wish that was not the case.”

Yes, some of it is self inflicted; but the main problem is that there are MANY in D.C. who want him to fail and they were all to happy to climb aboard the Clinton train.

While Cruz is correct, he needs to clearly state that he supports the agenda, and he wants Trump to succeed.

His right-minded supporters will understand fully. Cruz' still-bitter supporters will just have to suck it up.

Of course, some of it is self inflicted.  The same can be said about any one who is having some kind of trouble.  If you have a crappy life, things aren't going your way, chances are at least some of it is self inflicted.  Same with your health.  All of us make bad choices, including Sen. Cruz.  Even though I wish he was President, I still know that he too, would have made some decisions that would have incurred self inflicted wounds.  We are all human and make bad decisions.

Ooooh..... Donald is not going to like that (disloyalty) one bit.  Ted better hide.... quick!

Must.... not.... point... out.... the..... effing.... obvious.

That said, Ted should have gone on to mention the 24/7, ongoing, leftist orchestrated, coordinated and paid for (by aholes like Soros) silent coup attempt to unseat a sitting US president.... just cause that magic "D" isn't by his name.

I agree.  Of course, it is obvious and he didn't have to point it out. We all know it.

What we also know is that most of the damage is inflicted by various evil forces who want to take over our country, destroy an honest election and regain power.

No.... actually "we" (as in most of the nation/America) don't all know it.  In fact, you'd be stunned and amazed at how many clueless Americans there are out there.

Ted is a fundamentally honest and truthful person. One thing I admire about him.

However I would say most of the Trump problems are self inflicted. Not just some.

Some of the Trump damage is self inflicted but most is media inflicted and it's not going to stop either.

Trump would be wise to follow Ted's lead and ignore the circus!

The agenda of what? Not fully repealing Obamacare? Passing continuing resolutions on our bloated budget? No entitlement reform? Continuing crony capitalism?

While there may be parts of what Trump is doing - Gorsuch, regulations - Cruz knows Trump is not conservative and doesn't really deserve his endorsement, as evidenced at the convention.
How to lose credibility while posting:
1. Trump is never wrong.
2. Default to the most puerile emoticon you can find. This is especially useful when you can't win an argument on merits.
3. Be falsely ingratiating, completely but politely dismissive without talking to the points, and bring up Hillary whenever the conversation is really about conservatism.
4. When all else fails, remember rule #1 and #2. Emoticons are like the poor man's tweet!

I don't even know what to say to you.  Cruz has come to terms with the fact that Trump is president and he has supported him in every conservative policy.

You only grudgingly list the Trump accomplishments ... which aren't bad considering the situation he was in with Congress ... and you gleefully list the things he hasn't done.

The negativity on this forum by some people just wears you down.

Perk up.

@Emjay Sen. Cruz is right a significant amount of the Damage is self-inflicted, The Comey Firing just proved this. I wanted the man fired months ago but you have to admit all the conflicting statements from his Administration in the pursuing 5 days was problematic, IMHO.

The bitching on this forum by some people about those who are not ardently supporting Trump enough to suit them, just pisses us off.

Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Watch the video in its entirety.  He praised Trump's policies and said Trump has done very well with them and his agenda is not DOA because of the Special Counsel.  He sounded supportive to me.
