Setting aside everything in this thread but the actual article itself, its pretty clear that this is a recycled hit piece coming out of the intellectual wastelands of the NeverTrump movement on the extreme right. And by extreme right, I do NOT mean those in...say....the Cruz camp (as he has shown himself to be loyal and rational to the mainstream conservative cause and to the GOP).
Anyway, these folks...the crazed NT crowd, while politically in disagreement with the far left, are acting as unwitting pawns and useful idiots for the Schumer-Pelosi-Warren axis....making arguments based in innuendo, unsupported assumptions, and in some cases outright fictions...in order to extend this absurd narrative of Russian control over President Trump and his campaign. The entire premise has found absolutely no supporting evidence, is on its face irrational, defies common sense, and stems from an unwillingness on the Left and the NT group to actually look at why they suffered a defeat in the 2016 election.
We all understand that the NT's are not politically aligned with the Left, but its equally clear that they are in a similar kind of denial over why President Trump has won the oval office. So in that sense, in their inability to really look at the genuine reasons why people voted for and STILL support President Trump, they turn to silly conspiracy theories about Russia...or proclaim Trump voters to be hypnotized zombies who are blindly loyal, or they simply assert that the entire country has lost its moral compass. They become allies of the Left, whom they admittedly disagree on nearly every political issue of our time, and so unwittingly find themselves serving the cause of Socialism and anarchy that has consumed nearly the entire liberal political body of this country.
None of these silly assertions about Mr. Trump or his old fired Campaign manager are explicative...of anything (there's not even any evidence given of illegality). At best, they are symptomatic of an effort to avoid self examination...and to blindly tear down the man who they believe defeated them in the 2016 election...because, well, they don't like losing. And because they go through life believing they are 100% right about everything and that those who dare disagree are not simply wrong, but are evil.
And yes, the diagnosis I'm laying out here applies to the Left and the NT Right...as they are, astonishingly, merging in their political interests. In this cause, their jihad to destroy the President, they have become mirror images of one another...opposites who reflect each other's image perfectly. As such, its hardly surprising when an NT Right organization publishes a speculative, false, poorly sourced, and derogatory story that aligns itself with the hysterical positions the Left has taken in its opposition to our Republican President. In fact, now that they have become bosom allies, its simply to be expected.
Here's the hard truth. We are in a war for the spirit and future of this country. The Left is utterly united, and quickly squashes any inklings of disloyalty or uncertainty within its ranks...it works in concert, and it is wickedly effective because of this. It has powerful allies in the media and around the globe. On the Right, we have a leader...a President...and the people in their wisdom have given us both Houses of Congress so that we can rise up to stem this tide of liberalism that is threatening to wash away everything unique, special and free about this nation. And yet, we have Republicans who do little other than seek to undercut our leadership in this war...or who simply want to wait around and lose the fight in hopes of rising up later in some silly counterinsurgency after the Left has won the day. Newsflash, there is no coming back if we lose this battle. In the famous word of the great Ben Franklin "We must, indeed, all hang together, or most assuredly we shall all hang separately."
This doesn't mean we all have to be in lockstep on every issue. It doesn't mean we should set aside principles and ethics. It means we must see the bigger picture, where the real danger to ALL of our core principles is coming from...and ain't President Trump. The danger, the one that can end the nation as we know it, is coming from the creeping Socialism that is consuming the Left...either we come together with our current leader and fight it, or we lose. The same would be true had Cruz or someone else won the presidency...we MUST unite, or the Left wins. And they win all.
