WASHINGTON — By the time Richard B. Spencer, the leading ideologue of the alt-right movement and the final speaker of the night, rose to address a gathering of his followers on Saturday, the crowd was restless.

In 11 hours of speeches and panel discussions in a feder al building named after Ronald Reagan a few blocks from the White House, a succession of speakers had laid out a harsh vision for the future, but had denounced violence and said that Hispanic citizens and black Americans had nothing to fear. Earlier in the day, Mr. Spencer himself had urged the group to start acting less lik e an underground organization and more like the establishment.

But now his tone changed as he began to tell the audience of more than 200 people, mostly young men, what they had been waiting to hear. He railed against Jews and, with a smile, quoted Nazi propaganda in the original German. America, he said, belonged to white people, whom he called the “children of the sun,” a race of conquerors and creators who had been marginalized but now, in the era of President-elect Donald J. Trump, were “awakening to their own identity.”

As he finished, several audience members had their arms outstretched in a Nazi salute. When Mr. Spencer, or perhaps another person standing near him at the front of the room — it was not clear who — shouted, “Heil the people! Heil victory ,” the room shouted it back.

<snip>

But as the night wore on and most reporters had gone home, the language changed.

Mr. Spencer’s after-dinner speech began with a polemic against the “mainstream media,” before he briefly paused. “Perhaps we should refer to them in the original German?” he said.

The audience immediately screamed back, “Lügenpresse,” reviving a Nazi-era word that means “lying press.”

Mr. Spencer suggested that the news media had been critical of Mr. Trump throughout the campaign in order to protect Jewish interests. He mused about the political commentators who gave Mr. Trump little chance of winning.

<snip>

“America was, until this last generation, a white country designed for ourselves and our posterity ,” Mr. Spencer thundered. “It is our creation, it is our inheritance, and it belongs to us.”

If you are wondering, Mr. Spencer is the one who coined the term "alt-right" to describe his views and the views of those like him.

Bannon made Breitbart the 'legitimate' mouthpiece of these views... and is now the chief strategist for the Trump administration.

In other words, the head of the modern day Der Sturmer is the chief strategist of our new administration.

The question is... how many are willing to live with this?

Apparently he didn't steal any cable that carried FOX news.

David Horowitz's Front Page Mag claims Paul Gottfried coined the term so there will be no agreement on that, unless someone is pre-disposed to take Richard Spencer's word!

She's also an avid supporter of Hitler and Nazi ideology.  She's called for Ben Shapiro to be gassed.

A quote from her:

"There are only two things in this world, for which I would gladly sacrifice my own life; the destruction of all Jews and preservation of the white race."

I had a run in with Tila Tequila on twitter myself which led to another round of me blocking hundreds of neo nazi scumbags over the next week or so.

Spencer claims he invented it.

And you are a sick little animal to even state what you did.

You don't want to know whose working in the new Trump administration?  You'd rather turn a blind eye?

Do you even know who did *EXACTLY* the same thing?

That's a good explanatory piece by Gottfried @TomSea

A sample:

I tried to explain that the exceedingly elastic term “Alt-right” has been claimed by a number of groups that belong to the non-establishment Right. All those on the Right who are at war with the GOP establishment and neoconservative politics and who are combatting PC with particular ferocity have embraced the designation “Alt-right.” This is especially true of Millennials who scorn establishmentarian positions.  But it’s not at all clear to me that those who write for Bannon’s website publication, some of whom are Orthodox Jews, have much to do with white identitarians who also use the term “Alt-right.” I would doubt that these writers go out to drink with the Philonazi blogger Matt Heimbach, who also claims the Alt-right moniker.

So are we just supposed to overlook these folks?

I say shine the spotlight on 'em and the let the cockroaches run for it. The Alt-Right should have no place in the conservative movement.
“The way I see it, every time a man gets up in the morning he starts his life over. Sure, the bills are there to pay, and the job is there to do, but you don't have to stay in a pattern. You can always start over, saddle a fresh horse and take another trail.” ― Louis L'Amour

The danger of trying to pretend that they don't exist is that its how they grow until you can no longer deny them and when we can no longer deny them, they'll be welded to us for decades. Much like speaking of the nazis is verboten in Germany, has caused them to grow to a very large "far right" segement of the population. And before anybody throws a tantrum about me calling them far right, its important to note that the continental euro right bears virtually no resemblance to the english speaking right of the world. They are effectively racist socialists with plenty of other far left views like the support for assisted suicide, eugenics for other than whites and gay marriage etc.

The alt right in this country are a lot closer to that socialist euro right and the very least we can do is point them out for the leftists they are or risk being further tainted with their stench.

History repeats because people always forget and/or insist that the lessons of history cannot happen here.

Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

The Alt-Right should have no place in the conservative movement.

Is that the same conservative movement that garnered less than 200,000 votes in the 2016 Presidential election?

I agree.

That's because [dis]honest john seems to be on some kind of crusade to attack those he perceives as bein' "racis'".

Let [dis]honest john post whatever he wishes, and make whatever accusations he wishes to make. (Example: not that long ago he was posting that The American Thinker website was filled with racists and the like).

It won't stop folks like me from believing what we believe, or from posting what we wish to say.

It sounds like you agree with Spencer...

...but are upset that anyone should call him and his beliefs out as an unmitigated evil.

If you were wondering, Jesus doesn't let those who would send him up a chimney stack into heaven.
