Quote
Jerry Falwell Jr. continues to disgrace himself for the sake of his favorite orange-faced idol, Donald Trump.

In this sparkling interview, he says we have to put our Christian principles on hold until after the election:

How to lose credibility while posting:
1. Trump is never wrong.
2. Default to the most puerile emoticon you can find. This is especially useful when you can't win an argument on merits.
3. Be falsely ingratiating, completely but politely dismissive without talking to the points, and bring up Hillary whenever the conversation is really about conservatism.
4. When all else fails, remember rule #1 and #2. Emoticons are like the poor man's tweet!

His father milked his flock with the evils of heavy metal music for donations so it's not hard to believe the son learned at Daddy's knee. I have yet to see one highly public 'man of God' wannabee that ever put God before profit or power.

@roamer_1

From your mouth to God's ear.  I certainly hope so.

My inlaws are friends with the Falwells, and they are also huge Trump fans.  I'm dreading the next time we see them because I'm afraid they're going to try and defend Jerry Jr.  I hope they won't....I'm praying they won't.  Because if they do, there's going to be a blow-up.

My husband and I don't bring up politics with them anymore because we know it will lead to arguments, but they're so enamored with Trump that they can't contain themselves.

So now I have to dread seeing my inlaws.  Trump poisons every damn thing.

And Billy Graham tells us that since DT is 70 years old now his drive is not what it was 11 years ago.  Whatever that means...................we now know that the religious hustlers are no better than the street walkers.  Prostitutes all.

For goodness sakes, it wouldn't surprise me if Trump has Viagra implants in his body.

Falwell's absolutely right, if folks want to help the abortion loving Godless, Islamic sympathizing left, that is their decision and they have their reasons.

Billy might be surprised at what a rail of good Coke can do for a man's 'drive' regardless of natures view on it.

Or he might not...

You seem confused. Falwell supports  the abortion loving Godless, Islamic sympathizing left. He's defended Trump a few times now.

Planned parenthood funding, and remember money is fungible
Godless with his two Corinthians nonsense and little crackers, plus his not needing God's forgiveness
Islamic sympathizing for backing off his statements to ban muslim immigration.

Your boy is scum.

I often said on FR that I figured the Pope, being the documented leftist he is, would eventually come out and say that Jesus was just a metaphor. That hasn't happened yet, but I can't help but think that these so called 'man of faith' outside Catholocism are laying the groundwork for exactly that.

If you can set aside your Christianity to elect a liberal, then surely it's acceptable in the eyes of God to set aside your christianity for sex with the high school cheer squad, drugged out excess every weekend, abortion on demand and all the rest of the Democrat party platform right?

Just a month more... It'll get easier once the silly season is over.

I had a similar problem here wrt Romney - You may not know this, but Mormonism is very strong in the Northwest. Many of my friends and acquaintances thought it a betrayal of the highest order that I would not endorse that particular liberal. Good Conservatives too - But their religious blinders left them with tunnel vision.

It got back to normal after the election.

100% false.

Mr. Falwell may not be the most articulate spokesman, but those words were not uttered by him.

Classic case of the media putting words in someone else's mouth.

If the values upon which the United States was founded need to be set aside in order to elect the a candidate, then that candidate is totally unfit for the office of president.

I posit ...

that the pro-Trump evangelicals like Falwell, Jr., Kenneth Copeland, Creflo Dollar, Paula White, etc., like Trump himself, serve only one god.  The almighty dollar.  These evangelicals (false prophets) preach the "Prosperity Gospel".  And as the Bible says, you cannot serve two gods.

That they would advise Christians to 'set aside' their Christian values for this election, in order to vote for Trump, speaks volumes.....for anyone that is willing to hear or listen.

Yes.  However....Falwell was given a perfect opportunity via that question to make clear what his stance was on the issue.  He chose to agree with the meme that one should "put aside their Christian values for this election"....due to the serious nature (going off the cliff with Hillary) the nation faces.  I daresay that not even then ....would God have Christians put aside their Christian values and beliefs.  And God is the one we need to worry about pleasing....

NOT Trump.

I'm willing to bet it's going to be one of the longest months on record, lol.

Roamer, do you know whether Jonathan is also a Trump supporter?   Word is that he prefers to stay out of politics and that he's upset with Jerry for his public pimping of Trump, but that's only rumor.

Your position is perfectly correct, And I will predict that Christian participation in Trump's election will be found to be considerably less than advertised. One can influence shaky leadership, as it seems has happened, but by and large, Christians won't buy into this.

What groups are you specifically talking about here?

Does this include Catholics, Mormons, and mainline Protestants?

I'll wager Trump beats Romney in every category besides Mormon.

WRONG. You do not give up your values for any cause.  If you do then they were never really values in the first place.
