Personally, I think they are all over-rated but these guys are unsung.

Living Colour is amazing. They deserve a lot more credit for their talent.

My one and only brush with pop music fame was sharing an elevator ride with Ah Ha in Tokyo hotel.

Utopia probably isn't on anyone's Top Rock Band list but back in the day I thought they were pretty good (nerdy videos notwithstanding).

Their lead singer was Francis, Charley Sheen's foxhole buddy, in Platoon.

A little trivia fer ya.

In my best Johnny Carson voice "I did not know that".

Cult Of Personality was a great song and the band was great. It is too bad that they didn’t break through after that big hit.

It seems though that Corey Glover is still making music. Great voice.

"Utopian Crybaby" could describe a lot of modern leftists and millenials who do nothing but complain and think the whole world is horrible and racist while living in the most advanced, prosperous society in history.

Since I last posted on this thread, I’ve been trying to recall the name of the prog-rock band from the late 70’s who I think was much underrated and never got the attention they deserved. I finely remembered.

Crack The Sky

They got a lot of airplay locally in Baltimore (on 98 Rock) where they were very popular but they never seemed to break though despite touring and opening for bands like Styx, Supertramp, Rush, Foreigner, Electric Light Orchestra, Yes, ZZ Top, Kansas, Edgar Winter, Frank Zappa, and Boston.

The band sort of reminds me a bit of a mixture of Frank Zappa and Rush and The Alan Parsons Project.

I met their lead singer once, John Palumbo back in the late 80’s but I didn’t know who he was, I didn’t recognize him. I was between jobs at the time and was working with my dad and my brother on a bathroom and kitchen renovation project in Towson, MD.

I had the job of scraping off the several layers of old linoleum flooring in the bathroom – and oh, what fun job that was s/

The owner came home and walked into the bathroom where I was on my hands and knees scraping up the old flooring and seeing that I was hot and sweating, he introduced himself as John and offered to get me a cold soda.

My dad, who was in no way a fan of rock music, came in later and said, “Do you know who that was? That’s John Palumbo - he’s a famous musician with the band Crack The Sky.”

“Really dad? You know about Crack the Sky?” “No” he said, “Not really, but the other day when I was here working he was playing on his piano and he’s really talented, plus he’s a nice guy and he pays me on time and in cash - I just thought you would want to know.”

I'll say it: Nickelback. :-P
How to lose credibility while posting:
1. Trump is never wrong.
2. Default to the most puerile emoticon you can find. This is especially useful when you can't win an argument on merits.
3. Be falsely ingratiating, completely but politely dismissive without talking to the points, and bring up Hillary whenever the conversation is really about conservatism.
4. When all else fails, remember rule #1 and #2. Emoticons are like the poor man's tweet!

I've been a big fan of the Kinks since I was a kid,  and I've long maintained they aren't as "well respected men" as they deserve to be.

Heck, at this point I'd just love to see Ray and Dave Davies play together again.

Some personal favorite Klassic Kinks tunes:

Get Back in Line (an anti-union song!)

Strangers

Too Much on My Mind

Waterloo Sunset

Muswell Hillbillies

Oklahoma, USA

Days  (this one features the most beautiful bridge I've ever heard)

I'm Not Like Everybody Else

Shangri-La

Victoria

The Way Love Used to Be

And so many others . . . .

It's crackers to slip a rozzer the dropsy in snide

I'll throw out "Focus" for discussion.
