Trump's Speech Trumped Cruz - Phylis Schafly

Trump's Speech Trumped Cruz

Donald Trump's acceptance speech proved that his vision, not Ted Cruz's, is the future of the conservative movement and the Republican Party. Trump hit the right notes in his talk in putting America first, while Cruz's presentation to the convention the night before was thin on conservative substance.

Cruz did not disqualify himself from being a future standard-bearer merely by failing to endorse Trump, but also by failing to embrace the conservative policies that are necessary to make America great again. It was Trump, not Cruz, who succeeded in fulfilling Ronald Reagan's goal of "raising a banner of no pale pastels, but bold colors which make it unmistakably clear where we stand on all of the issues troubling the people."

Trump repeatedly and passionately demonstrated in his acceptance speech that he would stand up for Americans and do everything in his power to end the exploitation of the United States by the rest of the world. "Americanism, not globalism, will be our credo!" Trump declared, adding that "the American people will come first once again."

Schlafly defines conservatiism as socially and fiscally liberal.  Who knew.  I have lost all respect for her.

And another right wing icon bites the dust.

This is all about Trump's initial promises regarding the disposition of illegal aliens. IMO

Haven't any of these otherwise intelligent people noticed Trump is no longer talking about deportations or a wall?

And interestingly she acknowledges this little nugget

"An astounding 12 million non-Republicans crossed party lines to vote for Trump in the Republican primaries."

This didn't raise any red flags?

Trump's Speech Trumped Cruz

Well considering that the only speech still being talked about now is the Cruz speech and no one is discussing Trumps long winded recycling of his stump speech.........looks like the opposite is true.

Wait!  What's her source?  Because he only got 15 million or so votes, so she's saying that only 3 million of those were republicans?

Yeah...red flags symbolizing republicans, emblazoned with "welcome to the party that's got your back."

Shouldn't Schafly be worrying about all those foreigners taking our jobs in the MLB?  :silly:

From source

Quote
Leaving people alone to do whatever they like is not enough to restore the United States to military superiority or economic independence, or to achieve the many other goals set forth in the Republican Party platform.

Phyllis has really lost her edge when she sets up such a strawman as this.

Quote
Cruz's speech reflected the views of his mega-donors, who tend to be more libertarian than the conservative views of the average American.

Garbage

Quote
Trump obviously meant every word in his electrifying speech

Full blown fangirl? Sad.

Quote
The greater flaw is that, like Mitt Romney and others in the Republican Establishment, Cruz has failed to embrace the conservative vision that Donald Trump stands for.

Right Phyllis. We have all been blown away by Trump's clarion call to reducing the size and scope of the fedgov. It's especially exciting to see his daughter touting the Democrat agenda. Newspeak is a great language. That I can tell you.

Does not reflect well on the rest of Ms Schafly's essay.

But no doubt many democrats did vote for Trump. The most recent DNC email dump by Mr Assage gives us a clue why.

Again, why won't these idiots drop it?  The people who refuse to vote for DT or are on the fence about it, OBVIOUSLY  are smarter and use use their reasoning skills a lot better than anyone who would be convinced by the fangirl groveling.   They also get pissed when Cruz and other conservatives are attacked and likened to the establishment.   Yet they can't help themselves... attack attack attack....   and if his speech was so dynamic and better and more Conservative than Cruz's,  then she wouldn't even have to tell us, BECAUSE WE'D ALREADY KNOW!   Instead,  like Hannity and ask the other media shills, she has to break it down,  piece by piece, literally picking it apart.... and she has to reinterpret and EXPLAIN every word of Trump's.   If it had been a real conservative speech,  she wouldnt have to tell anyone.   And my God, she takes the one and only (far as I can find ) speech in the whole convention that mentions anything resembling a pro life statement, AND THAT'S THE LEAST CONSERVATIVE SPEECH?   She'd lost her Flippin mined.

Dear Miss Phyllis,

Donnie Trump does not represent the future of the conservative movement.

Sincerely,
A Real Conservative

You mean suggestion. He can be flexible on that.

I know there have been some suggestions from Eagle Forum insiders that Schafly is well past her prime. That nutty essay she wrote about Latin American baseball players was out to lunch.

They don't want just our votes, they want goose stepping, heel clicking allegiance. Nothing else will please them, that's why the beatings will continue because unity improves. The lack of unity, from their perspective, is due to our rejection of Duke ala Orange's coronation as supreme over all principles.

I think it's a trademark of his. He likes to type his stuff in blue.

Me, I like to type in a serif font like this, but usually I just resort to the default.

She's just confirming what we already knew.....that Democrats crossed over and voted for Trump, their GOP candidate of choice as the easiest for Hillary to beat, in the open primaries.  Phyllis just isn't bright enough to discern that she confirmed that via her statement.
