Steve Deace: Trump meltdown begins

I am seriously wondering if Trump will make it to Cleveland. First two days on his own have been Chernobyl. Even worse than I predicted. With no straw men to demagogue and polling to prop him up, Trump has only himself now for the story. And as predicted, media has turned.

Trump is still dominating the news cycle, but it's all bad now. Worse than bad. He's become a clown show in just 2 days. Even what should be good news, former competitors now groveling at his feet, looks ridiculous because of what they said about each other.

Since Trump has already pivoted Left on almost every issue, he has nothing to take the focus off himself. Media has turned on Trump by keeping him the focal point of its coverage. They just flipped the meat over so we could see the uncooked side.

It's like Hillary and Bernie aren't even running, and we're watching Trump meltdown in his own solo version of the Truman Show. He may not survive to Cleveland, let alone win in November. Won"t just lose, but become a cultural laughing stock if this continues.

Because Trump has given the media the story it has always loved the most -- GOP Civil War/infighting. It may turn out that while Trump thought the media was helping him con the GOP, he was really the mark all along.

The media played him.

Trump is on the wrong end of The Sting, whose goal is to brand us (orthodox religion, morality conservatism, etc.) with him. The Left used Trump to corner us in a Kobayashi Maru scenario. Support him and lose your integrity, going all the way back to attacking Bill Clinton for his adulteries. Which makes you useless going forward.

Don't support him and you'll put them in charge. Either way, we will lose because by the time they're done with him, anyone attached to Trump is screwed.

That means the only way to win the War Games is not to play.

Too early yet..sometimes people need to get their footing and they then take off.

I still think Hillary is going to crash and burn and you will see a Biden/Warren ticket pop up. People just don't like Hillary.

False premise, he has Hillary to beat up.

This is dead on. Anyone else remember a more worthless and non positive coronation of a nominee? For crying out loud Trump was pimping some crappy mexican salad he hotel serves instead of going about doing what he said he would do. Destroying Hitlary.

Trump is a fraud just like his steaks.

He needs to eat sometime. Don't have to campaign 24/7  no one can do that anyway. They all need to take a break now and then.

But they like her better than they like Trump.....

He's gonna bitch-slap himself out of a slew of endorsements if he keeps up these insults.

Yes, but it makes him look petty and small.  Very small.

That pretty well hit the nail on its head!

Keeping fingers crossed that Cruz "suspending" was something he might reconsider as the Rump takes the Uzi to his footsies. Lots can happen tween now and Convention.

Must be getting pretty grim in the cattle cars on the tRump train.

Cruz won't be back. He'll run again in 2020.

The Pubs are dead meat this year, even hillary can win. Ryan not being on board was giving notice to everyone else running that they don't have to support the nominee. I may disagree with these GOPe types on just about everything, but I don't think they are stupid. They recognize that Trump is a terrible candidate. He's undisciplined. He lacks any depth on the issues. He's easily provoked. He attacks people on a personal level, which is appealing to some but to most it's a big turn off. He is a person of low character. He is going to be crushed in  the election and the Pubs know it.

Why don't you do like what  ML claims she does  and just put me on ignore. You'll sleep better at night not having to constantly be reminded that Trump schlonged the competition and will be President elect November, 2016.

Maybe you and Gary can share after the election. :silly:
