Trump to GOP: 'I'm sorry I did this to you'

By Caitlin Yilek

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump is sending a warning to GOP leaders about his dominance in the polls: “You’ve got to get used to it.”

During an interview with Fox News’s Chris Wallace, the billionaire said Republicans are “kidding themselves” if they think he won’t secure the GOP nomination.

“I say, folks, you know, I’m sorry I did this to you, but you’ve got to get used to it,” Trump said. “It’s one of those little problems in life.”

“I’m going to win. ... You know, I’m not one of these other guys that goes down. I don’t go down. I go up.”

Trump’s interview with Wallace is set to air Sunday at 6 p.m.

Trump is certainly one smug sonofabitch, ain't he?

If he gets the nomination, he'll lose 40 states.

It doesn't matter to the cultist whack jobs. They hope to destroy the Republican party. That's more important to them than having the Democrats win.

The Republican Party as now comprised, NEEDS to be destroyed.

The Republican Party is not going down if Trump is nominated and loses.  In fact, it will forever preclude a demagogic celebrity from ever trying a stunt like this again.

He's not going to lose.  He's 'Reagan'.

He will lose women, Hispanics, Asians, millenials, and college-educated whites. Recognize that demographic?  The very one that elected Obama.

Now Trump has shown he's nothing, if not creative.

Be prepared for him to bolt to the middle if nominated.  That means he'll soften on immigration, increase the number of Americans he wants to tax, and, contrary to his own actions, go on the offensive against "big business."  He'll embrace the Iran deal and decide Obamacare is something that just needs to be improved.

You best be prepared to have to decide if your celebrity worship will continue unabated when Trump tries to pander for Democrat votes.

Trump has no principles.  He's all about winning.

Just saw a new Landmark Georgia presidential poll: Trump 43, Cruz 16, Undecided 13, Rubio 11, Carson 7, Bush 5.  What is remarkable in all of them (to me) is that Republican vote is right now at least 65% outsiders (I am counting Cruz as an outsider here).  That is why I think the party will find an accommodation between factions - the outsider voice is a tremendous proportion of the Republican electorate.  There's nowhere else to go.

I think it HAS changed...that's why we are seeing outsiders polling at 65-70 percent. It isn't so much about political ideology, something else is happening. That's a huge cohort - the party appears very united, but against what it sees as the establishment and the politics of the past.

The Republican Party is NOT:

In favor of banning Muslims
In favor of shipping 11 million illegals over the border to......somewhere...in boxcars
In favor of eminent domain
In favor of single payer healthcare
In favor of letting Russia handle ISIS
In favor of imposing the death penalty on states from the Oval Office
In favor of taxing corporate profits held overseas at 20%
In favor of ridiculing handicapped people in public
In favor of commenting on menstrual emanations of journalists
In favor of ridiculing the facial appearance of its female presidential candidates
In favor of celebrity populism

The Republican Party is far from united. And Trump will not unite the party if he is nominated.

Which means he will lose.

If the House and Senate were an true exercise of War Games, the Republican leadership would be summarily shot.

...for cowardice in the face of CLEAR 'Domestic Enemy activity' going on in the White House.

...for allowing Obama to get us into $19 Trillion in debt.

And anybody over the age of twelve can see that he's actively complicit in our cities becoming soft targets for these wack jobs.

I honestly think his numbers are much higher.

For every Hispanic Trump losses over immigration, Trump gains an inner city black voter upset about illegals undercutting his wages. For every pro-abortion woman Trump loses, he gains a security mom glad Trump will end gun-free school zones. Trump owns security Hawks. Veterans, police, military, they're all voting Trump.

The little people are starting to speak with a louder and louder voice. They want common sense coming from government.

Trump seems to be providing that.

Why don't you leave the party, DC?

You geriatric arm-chair warriors (and I'm 64) who think the GOP Congress can work miracles in the face of a president of the opposite party amaze me.  You want to burn down Washington,to fire everybody, but who would you replace them with?  People like Cruz who hasn't accomplished jack in his time in the Senate?

Nothing but anger. Elect a Republican with a Republican Congress and you might get something done.

But ELECT A REPUBLICAN.

Not Trump.

And yet Cruz is outpolling Rubio and Bush combined amongst Republican voters (with the caveat that this is from polls)...are you certain it is D.C. That is out of touch with the party???

Cruz has accomplished NOTHING in the US Senate except being shown up on his attempt to shut down the government and voted down 98-2 that was intended to be a public rebuke of him by the Senate as a whole.

Ted Cruz works in a body that has no respect for him.
