Classy.  Sink the thread.  Sink the dialogue.  Sink the forum.

Elevate the thread. Say something intelligent, useful, cogent, insightful.

You want dialogue?  Post something that will make someone want to talk to you.

How does this sink the forum?

You buy a round, we'll stay all night.

The poster I replied to has said NOTHING of substance on this entire thread, yet I'M the one who takes two steps backward.

He gets to take shots at me, but I have to back off and be PC because..........well, you know why.

That is not a fair standard, Myst.

I was born in 1942.  I am a female watching my country going to hell in a hand-basket.  One man, Donald Trump, seems to read my mind and I will vote for him because he has the manhood to say what I have been thinking for almost eight years.

My congressman's slogan was "Cut the Spending".  He has done nothing.
My senators are bought and paid for by the Commerce dept.  I call and talk to idiot interns and leave meaningless messages that are never addressed.
Reason for this:  I am not a big donor.

I welcome fruitful dialogue--I am now afraid to post here.  Why?  Because I will then subject myself to denigration, humiliation by a set of individuals hell-bent to sink meaningful dialogue.  That's the reason I do not waste my time trying to defend my position.

I'm too busy trying to keep my head above water to spend a lot of time defending my position.

This site used to be a wonderful place for me to go and post interesting bits of news (especially regarding our splendid military).  Lately, I am afraid to post on political threads.

So, point your fingers at me if you like.  I'm not important nor well-liked, but really wanted to defend the forum.

I certainly can respect your sentiment, famous. I'm not sure why you directed that at me other than, I hope, you felt it was in a safe direction.

We all have demons, we all yearn - in some way - for do-overs.  We all have regrets. We each have unique life experiences.

I believe every poster here wants the best future possible, for ourselves and our legacy. We know the future is in jeopardy. We ought to pause a bit and understand that.

Yep. You're right.

And I feel terrible.  I'm the jerkweed on this thread.

Since everybody has demons, should we just walk on eggshells from here on out?

Let me know. I can be soft and cuddly, but I won't be here near as much.

I like when people share backgrounds, it gives some context to their politics. It's also good when their personality shows through. You have an interesting personality and are always welcome to let it shine here and with me. Seasons Greetings!...(I always liked that one).

Why don't you leave the party, DC?

You geriatric arm-chair warriors (and I'm 64) who think the GOP Congress can work miracles in the face of a president of the opposite party amaze me.  You want to burn down Washington,to fire everybody, but who would you replace them with?  People like Cruz who hasn't accomplished jack in his time in the Senate?

Nothing but anger. Elect a Republican with a Republican Congress and you might get something done.

But ELECT A REPUBLICAN.

Not Trump.

I'm a Republican.  But, I'm a very angry Republican.  We've gone over it already.

Act like a damned opposition party.  And do it with passion and determination.  Show some damned Statesmanship.

Instead we get McConnell who looks like he died ten years ago.  We need ACTION!

Show me SOMETHING!!

So I'm done with them.  Like Reagan said, "...., they left me!".
