With all due respect, there is absolutely no call for that here.  From either perspective.  The problem with TOS is not divergent opinion vehemently argued, it was the fact that one side was suppressed/purged because of that divergence of opinion.

Are you kidding me?  Do you know how many times I've seen that stupid, pathetic excuse?  The problem at FR is not vehement disagreement over very different opinions, and it isn't even name-calling, it's the fact that one side is effectively suppressed because of the threat that the admin powers of FR will be used as a weapon to favor one side over the other by "zotting" those on the disfavored side.

Doing that is about as grown up as saying you're going to take your ball and go home because we won't let you win.

Can someone confirm for me whether Trump was speaking about Ben Carson when he made the Seventh-day Adventist comment? I didn't hear the connection.

Did you really watch the video?  Go back and watch it. 
Just before he brings religion into it, he mentioned the "2 Iowa Polls" (showing Carson ahead) and says he doesn't believe it, and right away he mentions he is a Presbyterian—a denomination that he described as “down the middle of the road.” He then made a contrast to Carson’s denomination: “I mean, Seventh-day Adventist, I don’t know about, I just don’t know about.”   Who else would he be talking about but Carson?   
Did he insult SDA by what he said? I don't think so, but with Trump’s poll numbers slipping to second place behind Carson in Iowa, his statement was calculated to attract more evangelicals.   He doesn't have to insult the faith himself - just bring it into the discussion. There are enough evangelicals with engrained prejudices against other faiths, that he just needs to plant the seed to get the evasive poison ivy to grow.

If you still need evidence he was talking about Carson, then ask Trump himself, for later when asked, he did not deny it. He just said that he said nothing wrong - which technically is correct.

It was quite a while ago, and Carson hasn't said anything since.

I'm not sure why it was even brought up, but Carson realized he was out of line and has acted accordingly.

Most of the churches who are actually, historically Presbyterian have pulled out of the denomination because of how political and leftist they have become.  There are a number of more conservative alternatives and the PCUSA is hemorrhaging members big time.

Yes we did, and though it was not a direct attack on SDAs, how I interpreted what he said is, that he was sending  a message to many Christian conservatives who claim the Seventh Day Adventists are not Christian, making it known to all what faith Carson is.   I like and support Carson and knew he was a strong Christian, yet this is the first I heard he was SDA.  That's how strong and affective  Trump's little comment was. And frankly I don't care if he is SDA.

So if you and the Trump supporters don't like us calling him out on this one, you can just go ahead and throw your little tantrums, we don't care.

Yes actually I am...I don't know if I'd vote for him in the primary here or not, but I'd certainly consider it. I don't know who my first choice is (I do know some I won't vote for). But what drives me crazy is the outrageous over the top hatred that comes constantly - almost half the threads are something posted (like this) that are frankly deranged. The Democrats Bush Derangement Syndrome - which was real - is nothing, absolutely nothing, compared to Trump Derangement Syndrome. Some of you need to take chill pill and give it a rest. 

This is politics and gloves come off - and it's OK for candidates to go after each other hammer and tongs. That's actually the one thing that is most attractive to me about Trump, unlike almost every Republican we've seen in the last 20 years, he's not afraid of his own shadow. He's not a wimp.  Even George Bush, weirdly enough, was a complete wimp about going after his political opponents. That is the one thing attractive about Trump - he keeps fighting and dishing it out. Do you think a nice guy is going to beat Hillary?  To me, the only thing that beats Hillary is someone ready to keep dishing it out, going on offense nonstop and doing so without fear of offending people.  Let's find someone loud and aggressive - whoever that might be - and win this damn thing.

I know I'm not even-handed about Trump, but I do understand that the constant barrage against him by his detractors(me) strengthens the resolve of those who are in the tank for him and even influences others who are Trump-curious.  It is a good warning that Trump foes should be more selective in our attacks.
