Pretty cats. Did you get a new cat yet?

LOL!  I drove by the county adoption center....brand new facility in Montgomery County...but the signal was green.

Truthfully, I want a cat that loves head and neck rubs and is calm enough to fall asleep in my lap.

I cannot tolerate a standoffish feline whose only interaction is when the food dish is empty.

Oh....and one that doesn't shed too much.  LOL!

Smallest Cat Mr Peebles may look like a kitten, but he is actually 2-year-old. The tiny cat got its size
from a genetic defect that stunts growth. At just 6.1-inch (15.5 cm)
high and 19.2-inch (49 cm) long, he currently holds certification
from The Guinness Book of World
Records as the world’s smallest cat

For the past 6 years, a dog named Capitán has slept on the grave of his owner every night. His owner, Miguel Guzmán died in 2006 and Capitán disappeared shortly...

Hero cat's family tells story behind boy's rescue: 'Dog did not even know what hit him'

The story, and the video that captured it, is enough to convert even the most hard-core dog lover into a cat person.

It’s how one family cat saved a 4-year-old California boy from a vicious and unprovoked dog attack – and all captured in a one-minute surveillance clip.

“It’s honestly just a blur,” Erica Triantafilo said Thursday on TODAY, describing the attack she witnessed on her son, Jeremy. “I just remember hearing him and the next thing I know, I see my cat flying out of nowhere, onto this dog, and just remember trying to get my son and get the dog away and back in its yard, away from both of us that it was trying to attack.”

Jeremy had been on his bike, walking it up the family driveway when the next door neighbor’s dog trotted around a parked car and tore into the boy’s leg, dragging him off the bike.

That’s when Tara appeared on the scene, leaping on top of the dog, scaring it away. The kitty then went after the dog long enough to make sure it stayed away. The startling scene was captured in a one-minute clip compiled by Jeremy’s dad, Roger Triantafilo. The video went viral Wednesday, seen more than five million times on YouTube alone.

snip.....

"I think that dog did not know what hit him.”

The heroics displayed by Tara, a stray adopted by the family six years ago, surprised everyone.

“Every once in a while she puts our dog back into her place, but for the most part, she’s just the most mellow cat you’ve ever met,” Erica Triantafilo said. “All our boys love her and pick on her occasionally. She just loves them right back anyway.”

Jeremy, who was sleeping on his mom’s chest during the interview, received 10 stitches for two lacerations to his calf.

Vacations can be tough on pets, can't they?   Our 250 gallon reef aquarium had a casualty while away on vacation to Disneyland. The 10 inch clam we had since he was only about 3 inches - now just a nice mantel piece or in some people’s homes an ashtray.

Thank you for your condolences - In lieu of flowers, please send beer and garlic butter.

We don't even look at cats in the pet stores anymore. We have adopted 20+ strays that people just dump in the neighborhood. They gravitate to our place as if we had a giant cat-magnet in the yard.
It's hard to say, but we can't afford $150 cat food bills every month. This isn't counting vet bills.
I wonder when the lies will stop and truth begin, even as grim as the truth may be. And then I remember that for 70 years, the reign of terror in Russia called itself "the people's government." We have so far to fall, yet we are falling fast and Hell yawns to receive us.

My rescue group, Staten Island Hope Animal Rescue, was part of an adoption event in Manhattan's Union Square last weekend sponsored by the Mayor's Alliance for New York City's Homeless Animals and Petco.

About two dozen rescue groups were represented and I conservatively estimate 300 cats were up for adoption. Katie Couric stopped by our booth, as well as Fox five news crew.

Also, putting on a show for the attendees was the most amazing skateboarding bulldog. He was quick, he was agile, he was so cute on that board.

My group found homes for 16 cats. It was a good weekend.

Hey, guys, ever hear of birth control?
