He wasn't sent to hospice?

I can't wait to see him live on TV in front of a live studio audience as proof of life.

He could make a surprise appearance on the View.

In-home hospice care? Or discharged to Mort's Mortuary?
Surprising bit of news, anyway.

I though he was in a rehab facility receiving PT??

At any rate, it is past time for him to step down.  I think it is unlikely, that he'll return to the Senate to vote.  Just my opinion.

Even before this happened, there were videos of Mitch being wheeled around the capitol by his nurse-interns, wearing a thousand yard stare.  The next constitutional amendment should establish an age limit.

We need some sort of term limits on Congressmen and Supreme Court justices and other political figures.  I doubt that they are going to vote themselves out of a job or their seats.

bele repeats the oft-posted comment, to wit:

Term "limits" will never happen.
Give it up.

However, "age limits" for holding office MIGHT be achievable by Constitutional amendment, IF the amendment also specifies that such limits will not apply to any Senator, Congressman, President, Vice President or federal judge or Justice (of the Supreme Court) holding office at the time of enactment.

Ok -- I can settle for age limits ... but even at that .... is there truly any hope to achieve that??

I dunno about an age limit. I would hope to have old, wise men (or women) to populate that body.

I don't care if they are 90. hale and hearty, and sharp as a tack.

It's the 100 mile stare, and poopin themselves that ought to be levered out.

I know people in their mid-90s who are much sharper than Joe Biden was in his 70s (and probably in his 60s). I know it will never happen, but I'd love to see term limits - no more than two terms in the Senate and six in the House, for a total of 12 years. That's long enough.

Mort's Mortuary; you kill 'em, we chill 'em
you stab 'em we slab 'em
you whack 'em we stack 'em
you slash 'em we ash 'em
you burn 'em we urn 'em
you carry 'em we bury 'em
        you frag'em, we bag 'em.

You don’t become cooler with age but you do care progressively less about being cool, which is the only true way to actually be cool.

They aren’t sharp 40+ hours a week.  Octogenarians are in a state of physical and mental decline and should not run the government.  Lives and money are at stake.  Senators like McConnell are dominated by their staff, none of whom were elected.

None of them azzoles have seen a 40 hour work week in a long, long time, so...

Almost true - rather, SOME octogenarians... Maybe even most octogenarians... Not all. I can point you at a guy right now who is 85, getting around just fine, with the exception of a cane, and whose mind is a steel trap. Now, surely he cannot run a mile, but that is hardly a requirement.

That's a fact. But that is more a matter of his decline, which admittedly is a symptom of his age. But some, more than others.

I agree he should have been sent to the porch a long time ago... Him and Pelousy too - I get it. But age is not necessarily the arbitrary reason. Decline is the reason. Them that can, let em.

I think term limits are needed not so much due to advanced age, but to prevent new and breakup existing fiefdoms ruling this country with little or no regard for its citizens.
