Stupid townies. 'Oh wow man, I didn't think dude could be so unpredictable!'. As if it's the buffalo's fault.

It's a wild animal, doing what it does. When an animal that big and fast gets squirrelly, you move away quickly. Likely, you should have never been there in the first place.

If that big brown box is a dumpster, I'm surprised (well sorta) that the fellow didn't dive in. I'd rather smell like garbage and even old diapers than get hit. That little bit of steel could make a difference (but it likely will get dented up).

Bison are ornery critters, anyway, and screwing around in the vicinity of a bull isn't the path to a long and happy life. That one had already invaded a picnic area, and wasn't even just ambling about.

It's rutting season for Buffalo so that big male was feeling pretty frisky to start with, but I think the old man and his granddaughter were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.  I can't see from the video that they actually did anything wrong because they were well away from the animal and did not appear to provoke it. 

Buffalo have excellent senses of smell, so perhaps it was the guy's aftershave that set it off like that?  Who knows?

For the record the park service recommends people stay at least 100 yards [ 300 feet ] away. That guy was maybe 50-60 feet.

Current code version is ICD-11, while I doubt there is a code for Injuries sustained in Bison toss, there will no doubt be many of the standard codes applied to his injuries. I wonder if Bison are starting their own version of Dwarf tossing :pondering:
