They don't have nearly enough of them.

It is looking more and more like we were not prepared for a war of this nature and duration.

They don't have nearly enough of them.

Is there a real difference between not working and not having enough of "them"? Besides the devices are either handheld or mobile mounted. They would be forward deployed and stationed at the most likely and most valuable positions. Certainly the repeated attacks by Iran on the Jordanian base where US troops are stationed would be the highest priority.

The current anti drone devices do not work in actual combat.

Qatar said Tuesday it is working with all sides to find a diplomatic solution as President Donald Trump and Iran continued to publicly disagree over whether direct talks are taking place.

"We're looking into a diplomatic solution," Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari said during a briefing. He said mediation efforts are continuing with all parties but did not provide details or address the conflicting claims from Washington and Tehran.

The remarks came a day after Trump said the U.S. had resumed talks with Iran and claimed a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and address Tehran's nuclear program is "imminent."

Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei pushed back on Trump’s claim, saying on Monday that Tehran is not holding direct talks with the United States. Instead, he said, Iran is communicating through mediators in Oman on issues related to safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump accused Iran's leaders of publicly denying negotiations while privately requesting meetings.

"Whether Iran wants to admit it or not, we are, in fact, talking," Trump said Monday.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Glad to see increasing numbers of commentators denouncing the Arab states, as I have for weeks, led by Saudi Arabia and Qatar, that undermine our war effort against Iran in various ways, and lobbying us against actually defeating the regime, as well as embracing my repeated call for arming the Iranian people and targeting major Iranian oil infrastructure, especially Kharg Island.  The goal must be defeating the regime and as quickly as possible.

BREAKING: President Trump has reportedly given Iran until Tuesday to agree to fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face what he described as “devastating strikes,” according to Bloomberg.

The ultimatum comes as Washington continues to pressure Tehran to restore commercial shipping through the strategic waterway.

Similar deadlines and threats have been issued repeatedly in recent weeks without leading to military action, so it remains unclear whether this latest warning will result in a strike.

BREAKING: Trump sets a new deadline, giving Iran until the end of today to finalize a Strait of Hormuz agreement with Oman or face "devastating air strikes," per Bloomberg.

Trump adds "I want to give them every last chance before decapitation... You'll find out today."

The agreement with Oman however would not be something that Trump wants, a senior Iranian official tells Reuters it would grant Iran total sovereign authority over all inbound maritime traffic, and Oman would clear outbound vessels only after notifying Iranian officials, ensuring Iran retains visibility and the option to intervene.

Why Trump is downplaying reports Russia and China are helping Iran
Morgan Phillips

President Donald Trump cast doubt in recent days on allegations that Russia is helping Iran target U.S. forces, even as members of his own administration acknowledge Moscow and Beijing are supporting Tehran in other ways.

Trump dismissed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's claim that Russia supplied Iran with satellite imagery of U.S. military installations in the Gulf, saying any assistance would have been "very unimpactful" given the damage inflicted on Iran's military.

"We’ll find out if that’s true. I’ll ask Putin. We’ll find out," Trump told reporters at the end of July.

"I don’t think they’ve been doing it, certainly not at a high level," Trump added. "And if they have, it has been very unimpactful."

Trump pointed to the damage Iran’s military has suffered during the war. Russian help, he argued, has failed to stop the United States from destroying much of Tehran’s conventional forces.

Trump's comments came as his administration confronted separate reports that Russia and China are helping Iran in different ways — allegations that, if borne out, would suggest America's two chief geopolitical rivals are quietly supporting a nation at war with the U.S. Members of his own administration have acknowledged broader help from Moscow and Beijing.

The U.S. Army has burned through much of its stockpile of precision long-range missiles during the five-month war with Iran, according to an exclusive Reuters report, raising new concerns about America's military readiness if another major conflict breaks out.

Citing three people familiar with the data, Reuters reported the Army has used "virtually all" of its Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) and newer Precision Strike Missiles (PrSM).

One source also told Reuters the U.S. has used a little less than half of its global supply of Tomahawk cruise missiles since the war began, though Reuters said it could not independently verify that figure. The Navy's Tomahawk missiles are launched from destroyers, cruisers and submarines and are designed to strike heavily defended targets without putting pilots at risk.

The precision-guided ATACMS and PrSM, which cost more than $1 million each, allow U.S. forces to strike targets from long distances and have become key weapons in modern warfare. ATACMS have also been supplied to Ukraine for strikes against targets inside Russia, while the PrSM is the Army's next-generation replacement with greater range.

Reuters reported the shrinking missile stockpile could force President Donald Trump to rely more heavily on riskier piloted bombing missions if he resumes large-scale attacks on Iran.

Trump launched the campaign alongside Israel in February after predicting the conflict would be brief. But as the war has dragged on, sources told Reuters they worry dwindling missile inventories could weaken the U.S. military's ability to deter adversaries such as China and Russia.

A fourth person familiar with the matter told Reuters that while U.S. Central Command has nearly exhausted the land-based missile inventory it had at the start of the war, it has continued replenishing supplies by drawing from stockpiles elsewhere around the world.

Asked about the reported stockpile data, the White House provided Reuters with a statement from Trump.

"The United States has far more munitions than anyone in the world, and far more than we need," Trump said.

"Our defense companies are, at this moment, making more munitions than they have ever made before, in addition to expanding their plants and equipment at record levels," he added.

While analysts agree U.S. production of key munitions has increased significantly, they have also cautioned that current manufacturing levels may not be sufficient to sustain a prolonged, high-intensity conflict.

War Secretary Pete Hegseth pushed back forcefully Tuesday against a CNN report claiming the U.S. military had exhausted nearly 80% of its THAAD missile interceptors during the Iran war and had warned the Pentagon.

“That banner is NOT TRUE, @CNN. Shame on you,” Hegseth said in a post on X.

“We don’t hate the Fake News media enough,” he added.

CNN also reported that the military had also used about half of its Patriot interceptors.

The outlet, citing sources, said senior military commanders warned the Pentagon that the stockpiles were “dangerously low.”

Iran shifts to political warfare, 'playing to the edge' to test Trump, expert warns

Iran is ramping up political pressure on the United States in a bid to gain leverage, a leading Iran analyst warned Tuesday.

"This is a regime that knows it cannot win an outright battle of conventional capability," Foundation for Defense of Democracies Iran Program Senior Director Behnam Ben Taleblu said on Fox News' "America Reports."

"They're even fighting a battle of wills right now against the Trump administration, both on the battlefield and diplomatically," he added.

"Clearly they have some steel, but this is a regime that has shown us, in word and deed, over the past 47 years, that it will play to the edge and that it will gamble. Unfortunately, we're in a very tough situation right now," Taleblu added.

Taleblu also said no U.S. president has inflicted more damage on the Iranian regime than President Donald Trump, but argued that the administration has recently pulled back from several earlier threats.

"I think eight or nine — and even a newspaper run by Tehran's municipality basically said all of Trump's threats are watered down and that the U.S. is a paper tiger," he said.

"So this is a tough position for U.S. deterrence to be in right now, despite the good track record that the president has had."

Taleblu's remarks came as Qatar said Tuesday that mediators were making progress toward ending the war, although Tehran denied Trump's assertion that talks were already underway.

Target their newspapers, too.

It will be good practice.

@CENTCOM

The southern route through the Strait of Hormuz remains free and open for all commercial vessels seeking to transit the international waterway. Over the past three months, U.S. forces have assisted more than 1,000 vessels in successfully transiting the strait despite unwarranted Iranian aggression, and these transits continue today.

Qatar is an ideological ally of the islamic regime.

Its relationship with America however is based entirely on transactions and bribes.

Allowing them to mediate some kind of "peace deal" is complete retardation. It's like calling Al Jazeera a neutral news outlet.

:facepalm2:  What the hell else is the Iranian media supposed to say?

While the basement generals --- who know less than nothing about the actual dynamics and true state of the conflict --- may be collapsing on fainting couches all across social media, the actual Commander-in-Chief is not.  He knows he's sitting on top of the single most powerful military in the world --- and they're waiting for his signal to make the Mullahs cry and beg for mercy.  No worries or questions about that.

Trump is going to accomplish what he set out to do --- and do it his way:  denuclearize Iran, strengthen alliances with the Gulf States.

Trump is not going to:  trigger a bloodbath, entrench our military in Middle East blood feuds, or put America last.

Like it or not, Trump operates outside the box --- and he does so because he agrees with Einstein that "we cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them".

Let Trump be Trump.

Sounds like "denuclearization" on the video --- he says it twice.

Besides, had the President actually said "decapitation" the media would be splashing this all over the news --- don't ya think?

Five seconds into the video, Trump says "decapitation".  YOU posted it.  Own it.

Click the video link yourself.  Watch the first five seconds.  You will see that his words match the text verbatim.

                       Decapitation

So I ask a third time.  What did he mean by "decapitation" (cutting off the head).  Doesn't that mean replacing the current leadership?  Just be honest for once in your life.

Honestly @Hoodat, I wish you'd either find another hobby or someone else to stalk. You spend so much time choking in the gotcha weeds that you've become unbearable --- making conversation with you impossible.

The President may put on a spectacular air show over Iran, but that's it.  He's not going in for regime change --- because he doesn't want to for a whole host of reasons.   And, BTW,  Trump won't be giving you the bloodbath you crave, either.  Your best chance for this is still with Ukraine.

Now ---  we're done.

WATCH: Trump says new talks are 'last chance' for Iran to forge a deal
PBS, Aug 3, 2026

WASHINGTON (AP) — Newly planned talks between Washington and Tehran are the "last chance" for Iran to forge a deal and avoid an escalation of U.S. strikes on the country, President Donald Trump said Monday.

Watch the president's remarks in the player above.

Trump, speaking at the Oval Office, said he expects negotiations that will reopen the Strait of Hormuz and create a pathway for Iran to address the United States' concerns about its nuclear program will begin in the next day or two.

"The first phase is the opening of the straits. The second phase will be the denuclearization," the Republican president said. "And that will take a little while."
