Another rationale for believing crude prices will not fall after the Iran conflict finishes.

Reserves are way down, facilities crippled, transit uncertain.

Increase in Venezuelan heavy crude imports might be one way to improve the developing lube crisis.

Well our prices have dropped from 4.19 to 3.78.  So go figure.

The article indicates one reason is that refineries have prioritized transportation fuel product lines.  Since this article is about lubricants, it may not go so well in that arena.

In any case, I plan to go out and stock up on some motor oil and lube tubes just in case.

Who knows, it may be like stocking up on ammo and watching it go up exponentially as supplies get cut short.

Oil is about to be very expensive unless the bottleneck is cleared.  China has been living off its massive reserves, and the US reserve is at its lowest point since the early 1980s.

Many do if hydrocarbons are the basics.

10W40 is just a blend oils, likely from hydrocarbons.

Synthetic liquids in the petroleum world are made by taking the hydrocarbon chain of crude and natural gas apart and rearranging thru chemical reactions

One method, Fischer-Tropsch, converts natural gas or coal into a variety of liquids such as gasoline, diesel, kerosene and aviation fuels.  The Nazis uses this to generate fuels from coal to power their tanks.

The synthetic aviation fuels are particularly found useful as these synthetics, unlike fuel made from crude oil, are completely free of contaminants - jet engines love that.

Biomass can also be used to manufacture hydrocarbon and synthetic liquids.
