This may be Trump's wish list, but Iran is never going to agree to this. Especially with Iran not communicating, it's not going to happen. Never.  I believe that Rubio knows this.

Rubio lays out Trump's phase 1 and 2 demands in Iran negotiations

Secretary of State Marco Rubio laid out President Donald Trump's strategy amid peace negotiations with Iran, saying the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is only a "prerequisite" for talks.

Rubio made the remarks during an appearance before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Tuesday, telling lawmakers that Iran must end its belligerence in the region.

"They have to announce, very clearly, the straits are now open, we're not charging a toll, we'll help remove the mines that they put in there, and they will not fire on ships," Rubio said.

"In addition to the straits, that's the predicate that opens the door to phase two. Phase two is they have to commit to very specific negotiations on highly enriched--the disposition of highly enriched uranium that still is buried deep in a mountain somewhere," he continued, adding that Iran would have to agree to long-term limitations on its nuclear program.
I've come to believe that we really have no intention of any type of a peace agreement.  We are just squeezing them economically.  They are like a pressure cooker whose population will explode at some point.  Either the people will revolt or they'll attack us.  One of those 2 will happen.

So far, they've been attacking us in their favorite way...sending assassins to kill Trump and/or his family.

The people have been revolting and consequently were slaughtered.

They will not only start to attack us from within in a short period of time, but once they have nukes they will attack us from a distance .... perhaps not even from their shores, but our shores.

Right now something can be done to prevent the inevitable, but for whatever reason the Trump administration is refraining.

Just my opinion.

Rubio confirms US has not attempted to arm Iranian civilians: 'Certainly not'

Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that the U.S. has not made an attempt to arm Iranian civilians in hopes to overthrow their government amid conflict in the Middle East.

Rubio made the statement during an exchange with Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee Hearings.

Cruz asked Rubio directly about whether arming civilians had been considered.

"I'm not aware of any program to arm civilians in Iran to overthrow their government. I mean there may be other countries doing it or other elements, but certainly not the U.S. government," Rubio responded.

It to me is very obvious that Rubio is very knowledgeable and competent and why he didn't lead the negotiations with Iran we'll never know; instead Mutt & Jeff (Kushner & Witcoff) were sent.

Would the Iranian two-step tango had been any different if it was Rubio instead of those two?  I don't think so, but it did lead to doubts about Kushner and Witcoff's motives, which was not helpful here in the US.

We'll never know if the outcome would have been any different but I think there may have been a greater possibility of success with his expertise, personna, professionalism and insight than with the other two.  Trump would have been more reliant on his opinion rather than that of his SIL who I still believe was an inappropriate and even questionable choice to represent the U.S. and President Trump.

No, the outcome would NOT have been any different!!  The game the Iranians are playing would not have been one iota different! Get this straight:   Iran wasn't going to give up the nukes, or get out of the Strait of Hormuz no matter who's face was across the table!

In other words, the Straits have to return to it original condition before 47's War. Then they will discuss other matters = big whoop.  A war 47 was ill-advised to start and now is ill-advised to end. Poor sod.

Pretty much confirms that Trump is done with any further strategic military action against Iran.

Iran launches attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain, reports emerge from Saudi Arabia

Iran launched missiles and drones at Kuwait, according to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense.

Iran also attacked Bahrain and triggered air raid sirens there, according to Bahrain's Interior Ministry.

Meanwhile, reports emerged of sirens sounding in Saudi Arabia, though officials had not immediately confirmed an attack or released additional details.

The developments represent one of the broadest Iranian attacks on Gulf states since the conflict began, raising concerns about a wider regional escalation beyond Iran's direct confrontation with the United States and Israel.

Kuwait and Bahrain both host U.S. military facilities, including the headquarters of the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain. American officials had warned in recent days that Iran could seek to target U.S. interests and partners across the region.

Officials in Kuwait and Bahrain had not immediately released information about damage, casualties or whether incoming missiles and drones had been intercepted.

Iranians fear Trump deal could help regime survive

Amid President Donald Trump’s Monday announcement that a deal with Iran’s clerical regime is imminent to re-open the Strait of Hormuz and negotiate an end to Tehran’s illicit nuclear weapons program, Iranians who hoped U.S. pressure would force a decisive outcome now fear it may survive while ordinary people absorb the costs.

"Inside Iran, the mood has shifted from early-war optimism to a kind of exhausted resignation, but there is still some hope that this is the moment President Trump will use his leverage to do the right thing. The Iranian people understand this unusually narrow but strategic window," Lisa Daftari, editor-in-chief of The Foreign Desk who keeps in contact with Iranians on the ground, told Fox News Digital.

She continued that, "The regime is fiscally strained and politically brittle, while the broader population has been disillusioned by years of repression and economic collapse. Iranians do see this as a one‑time opportunity for Washington — and President Trump in particular — to translate military and economic leverage into the potential collapse of an irrefromable regime. If the outcome is a shallow agreement that props up the system without changing its trajectory, that window will likely close for years."

She continued, "If instead, the U.S. holds firm on sanctions and nuclear red lines, it can weaken the regime’s hand without punishing the Iranian people, who have already paid the highest price."

Daftari, the Iran expert, shared recent correspondence from two Iranians from Tabriz and Tehran.

The resident from Tabriz said, "From my perspective, decades of political tension between Iran and the United States have had their greatest impact on ordinary people rather than those in power. Many families feel their voices are not being heard in international discussions about Iran." Adding, "I respectfully ask whether you might consider sharing or highlighting the human side of this situation, so that the experiences of ordinary Iranian families are not overlooked in political discussions and media coverage."

The Tehran resident said, "Today, the people of Iran believe in the future. On days when economic pressure makes the faces of the Iranian people sad, the word ‘unity’ brings a smile to their lips. Our situation is not good, but we are motivated."

Fox News Digital surveyed a few Iranians and agreed to use only their first names because the clerical regime has declared the use of Starlink to bypass the censor a criminal act. A sophisticated clandestine network has managed to smuggle some satellite internet technology into Iran to allow people to communicate with the world outside the Islamist state.

This is an excerpt of an article by Fox News Digital's Benjamin Weinthal.

This doesn't make sense to me.  The Gulf states should be begging Trump to neutralize Iran, once and for all.  But, according to reports, they are not. I don't think Trump can/will turn the Mullahs and their war machine into a memory without a thumbs up from the Gulf states.

Please, make it make sense.

Pretty much confirms that Trump is done with any further strategic military action against Iran.

So the IRGC wins.

Yep! All 47 achieved was getting the Straits closed, smashed a few military targets [ all of which can be replaced ], and asking Iran to negotiate its nuclear ambitions.

Absolutely an amazing conclusion!  9999hair out0000

@libertybele: It's not his ego, it's him having the knowledge of what needs to be done and the frustration of not being able to accomplish what needs to be done. I still think Trump is one of the greatest Presidents ever.

Washington and Lincoln, to name two, also knew what needed to be done, but not being weak & squeamish like 47, had the fortitude to actually achieve the goals they set out to do. And that made them great Presidents. 47 is just a wannabe, who can do the easy things, but when it cones to the tough things, is found abjectly wanting.

And its not just Iran, but the campaign promise to rid the country of illegals with mass deportations. Only a tiny fraction of the 100,000,000 illegals have been deported.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu alluded to a highly-publicized phone call between he and President Donald Trump in which Trump expressed displeasure with Netanyahu over Israeli strikes on Lebanon.

During a Wednesday interview with CNBC, Netanyahu refused to comment directly on the phone call, but alluded more broadly to "tactical disagreements" he has with Trump.

“Sometimes we have, as in the best of families, you have these tactical disagreements,” he told the outlet. He also added “we always find a way to work them out, and we do so as great friends.”

“We can disagree in the morning” and end up agreeing by afternoon, he told the outlet. He also said he and Trump "agree on the main things."

He also said Trump has been "the greatest friend to Israel" and said the pair speak every two days.

A Monday report from Axios alleged that Trump lambasted Netanyahu over ongoing Israeli strikes in Lebanon that threatened a peace deal between the U.S. and Lebanon. "You're f------ crazy. You'd be in prison if it weren't for me. I'm saving your a--. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this," Trump reportedly said.

In an interview published on Wednesday, Trump confirmed he expressed displeasure with Netanyahu over Lebanon on a phone call, though did not confirm the language reported by Axios.

"I was a little bit perturbed at his constantly fighting with Lebanon. At some point I said 'Bibi, we gotta stop this. We gotta stop it,'" he told the New York Post's Miranda Devine.

IRGC Says Trump Ongoing Talks Narrative 'Not Reality' After Most Intense Clashes Since April

by Tyler Durden
Wednesday, Jun 03, 2026 - 12:15 PM
Summary
GCC blasts 'cowardly attacks' after Kuwait International Airport rocked by Iranian missiles: one dead, 63 injured.
Overnight saw US-Iran exchange fire in Strait of Hormuz - as US attacked Qeshm Island - and Iran unleashed more projectiles on Gulf states. Most intense fighting since April.
IRGC via state media: Tehran has frozen all back-channel communication with Washington over Israeli operations in Lebanon, calls Trump narrative a fantasy.
Trump says Iran has agreed not to pursue a nuclear weapon, while saying talks are still ongoing. Tells NYP he believes the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz will "resolve itself fairly quickly."

It turns out you are correct.  Today we've had a huge number of C-130's and B-1's returning to our local base.  It appears Trump has pretty much ended all hostilities.
