I call Shenanigans on Trump.

Heading into every weekend, the Orange One says there's a deal so there isn't a pre-weekend sell-off in the markets.  Otherwise, investors may not want to carry-over risk (investments) through the weekend ... when they can't sell because the markets are closed.

Media psychologists have labeled Trump as a "fabulist":

A fabulist is someone who invents or writes fables, or a person who tells elaborate, fabricated stories and lies. The term spans from the creators of ancient moral tales to contemporary literary writers and individuals known for deceit.

Did any civilian in the Trump White House do their homework and study for the war with Iran?

Or did they just get amped on energy drinks and start dropping bombs?

The Iranian regime has never acted on good faith. It’s always the same play: stall, buy time, realign.

We should not release assets or give sanctions relief until we have full access to and control of their nuclear material.

It takes approximately 30,000 rail tank cars to replace the volume of a single supertanker, costs roughly $0.02/ton/mile compared to $0.20/ton/mile for rail.

Didn't Truman choose to end the war by securing Japan's unconditional surrender?
Read your history.  What caused the surrender?

Option 1:  Invade the country with +million troops, forcing surrender
Option 2:  Drop a nuclear warhead(s) on country, forcing surrender
Option 3:  Blockade and isolate the country so it would be starved of food and resources, forcing surrender
Option 4:  Negotiate after extensive bombing, which may or may not work

Trump has similar choices and the first 3 have significant downsides

I sailed opined:
"Similar to what Truman faced against Japan.
He had multiple options and chose one that ended the war."

And I will go off the deep end and prognosticate that if we wish a similar unconditional surrender by iran, then we'll have no choice but to use similar weaponry against them, as well.

Point out to me where I'm wrong, and how such a surrender could be achieved otherwise.

When Truman was done with Japan, Emperor worship ended, they were disarmed - it was an unconditional surrender.

47, in contrast, will be leaving the Mad Mullahs and it's IRGC rule intact, no gain there. Since the Strait was open before 47 attacked, no gain there. The nuclear material may be recovered and disposed of - a gain. That's it. The limited nuclear gain will be immediately recovered once 47 is gone. The regime will then be free to murder as many Persians as they please. And make as many nukes as they want.

And of course, Iran will be hailed as a great power since the regime remained intact - they survived the attack of the Great Satan!

Islam will redouble its efforts to conquer, once again, the entire Western world and enter a 2nd Dark Age. The Future will only know 47 as the man who helped Islam conquer the world - if he's not forgotten entirely.

Ok, so which of the other 3 options do you believe are correct to pursue?

Are you advocating for the Truman option?

So, Truman forced a total, unconditional surrender on Japan, downside be damned.  Truman doesn't get doesn't get enough credit, IMHO.

The Japanese only surrendered after the Soviets defeated their million man army in Manchuria.  Faced with the options of surrendering to the US or Josef Stalin, the Japanese chose the US.

We have Uncle Joe Stalin to thank for the surrender of Japan.

Without the Soviet invasion of Manchuria, the Japanese would have waited out the US because they knew the US could not stomach the casualties required to invade and subdue Japan.  It's possible that the Japanese were willing to risk the death of most of their population to repel a US invasion.  The Japanese certainly had no regard for life or humanity.

Trump Situation Room meeting on Iran lasted roughly two hours, no formal announcement yet made

President Donald Trump’s Situation Room meeting on Iran concluded Friday after approximately two hours, according to a White House official.

“The Situation Room meeting has concluded and lasted approximately two hours,” the official told Fox News. “President Trump will only make a deal that is good for America and satisfies his redlines. Iran can never possess a nuclear weapon.”

Trump earlier said he was heading to the Situation Room to make a “final determination” on next steps involving Iran and the Strait of Hormuz.

The White House declared a photo and travel lid at approximately 6:14 p.m. ET.

Fox News' Patrick Ward contributed to this reporting.

Iran says no date set yet for Khamenei ceremony nearly 3 months after killing

Iran is still preparing a large public ceremony for slain Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei nearly three months after he was killed in a Feb. 28 airstrike, though officials say no date has been finalized yet, according to reporting from Iran International.

Mohsen Mahmoudi, head of Tehran’s Islamic Propagation Coordination Council, said authorities are planning a “magnificent” memorial event expected to draw “tens of millions” of people, according to Iran International.

Khamenei was killed in an airstrike that sparked a 38-day war involving Iran, the United States and Israel.

So if the Russians were responsible for Japan's surrender, why do you believe Truman dropped two nuclear devices on Japan and why did LeMay devastate Tokyo and other cities?
Did Truman simply hate to see them live?

If that was the case, the incendiary raids were doing a good job of burning off cities and taking a large number of inhabitants with them.
Operation Meetinghouse burned 16 square miles of Tokyo and produced over 100,000 dead, 40,000 wounded, and 1,000,000 homeless. More than Hiroshima or Nagasaki.

But the bomb, one plane (actually three, the Enola Gay, the Great Artiste, and Necessary Evil, the latter two observation and photography planes), one bomb, one city, has a psychological effect that induces a general feeling of helplessness that a 300 plane raid could not, despite Japan being relatively helpless against the bigger operations.

Not saying Manchuria didn't have an effect. That the cream of the remaining Japanese Army was getting overrun by the Soviets had to affect the decision to surrender, because that was the last great hope of the empire, short of dying at home fighting invaders, something which could have led to the extinction, for all practical purposes, of the Japanese people and their culture.

... which could have led to the extinction, for all practical purposes, of the Japanese people and their culture.

Bockscar was the name of the plane that dropped the 2nd nuke on Japan. Which proved that all of Japan could be nuked.

As for the extinction of the Japanese people and their culture, that was the aim of the Chinese for the horrors Japan inflicted on them:

After seeing the remains of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, a Chinese General remarked, "You Americans do good work." - from the Rape of Nanjing.

The Chinese planed to kill all males over 10, sterilize the remainder and use them as slaves until they died; all women over 20 to be killed and the rest to be sterilized and used as 'comfort women' until they were 40 and then killed - from the Rape of Nanjing.

Leaving no Japanese alive in Japan. Which would then have become part of China.

Report: UAE Carried Out Dozens of Airstrikes on Iran with U.S.-Israeli Coordination

The United Arab Emirates carried out dozens of coordinated airstrikes against Iran alongside the United States and Israel during the conflict with Tehran — including strikes on strategic energy and military infrastructure that reportedly continued even after the April ceasefire announcement — according to a report published Friday.

The Wall Street Journal, citing people familiar with the matter, reported the Emirati role in the campaign was far deeper than previously publicly known, with Abu Dhabi allegedly launching attacks from the opening days of the conflict while coordinating closely with Washington and Jerusalem, both of which reportedly provided intelligence support for the operations.

Among the targets reportedly struck by the UAE were Qeshm and Abu Musa islands in the Strait of Hormuz, Bandar Abbas, the Lavan Island oil refinery in the Persian Gulf, and the Asaluyeh petrochemical complex, the report said.

White House Official After Situation Room Meeting: Trump Will Only Make Iran Deal that ‘Satisfies His Redlines’

A White House official told Breitbart News Friday evening that President Donald Trump will only make a deal with Iran that “satisfies his redlines” following a Situation Room meeting held midday.

In a statement to Breitbart News, a White House official said the meeting lasted about two hours.

“The Situation Room meeting has concluded and lasted approximately two hours. President Trump will only make a deal that is good for America and satisfies his redlines. Iran can never possess a nuclear weapon,” the official said.

Iranian military advisor accuses Trump of ‘betraying diplomacy’ with blockade of ports

Mohsen Rezaei, a military advisor to Iran’s supreme leader, claimed Saturday that President Donald Trump is “betraying diplomacy” in U.S.-Iran talks.

“By continuing the naval blockade and making excessive demands in negotiations, he has once again proven that he is not inclined toward negotiation and is pursuing other objectives,” Rezaei wrote on X.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said earlier Saturday that the “ironclad” U.S. military blockade of Iranian ports has “put the real pressure on Iran.”

The blockade went into effect on April 13, and on Friday, U.S. Central Command said 115 commercial vessels have been redirected.

Does Lara speak for the President now?....and are *hours* Trump speak for weeks?

Lara Trump hopes for Iran war solution 'maybe in the next couple hours'

Lara Trump told “Fox & Friends” on Saturday that there is hope that the situation with Iran wraps up very quickly, we are hoping, maybe in the next couple hours.”

The host of “My View With Lara Trump” made the remark after President Donald Trump held a meeting in the Situation Room of the White House on Friday regarding the war.

"I think this president wants to do what's right. Period," Lara Trump said of her father-in-law. "He has never looked at things, 'well this is politically advantageous, so let me do this.' He looks at things as in is this right for America? Is this right for our future security? And that is 100% what you got with this Iran situation."

“Of course the president didn’t want to have a conflict with Iran just ahead of these midterms. In a perfect world, we wouldn’t have had to do this. But the can got kicked down the road, it landed in his lap and much like so many other things with this president, he is the one to get the job done, whether we are talking about Maduro and making sure that you know, he is held accountable, whether we are talking about ensuring Iran doesn’t have a nuclear weapon,” she said.

“Obviously the hope is that this wraps up very quickly, we are hoping, maybe in the next couple hours we get a solution here, but he is going to do what’s right no matter what,” Lara Trump added.

Her interview with the president is set to air at 9 p.m. ET on Saturday.

During the interview, Lara Trump said “I’d imagine if you could have timed things perfectly, having a conflict just in front of the midterm elections at time like this, isn’t ideal.”

“So you have really a very small window, so if you wanted to play that game then you would wait until the midterms are over and then the following hour, you'll attack Iran because they cannot have a nuclear weapon, most people agree with me on that,” Trump responded.

“But then it gets maybe carried into, you know, the next election whether it’s a midterm or not. So you have a very short window for doing anything having to do with war. But I don’t view that window, I view it I have to do what’s right,” he added.

If he was actually concerned about America's future security, he would kill every last IRGC and Mad Mullah, no matter what.

But he's going for a deal. What's that tell us?

There's no "deal," and there never will be a deal.  Iran is never going to give up its nuclear ambitions, and Trump won't accept anything less.  Neither side is going to give an inch, and it will end exactly as you describe, eventually.

But we are thissssssssssssssssssss close to the greatest deal ever! /S

We seem to always be so close to a deal then the Iranians say, I don't know what they are talking about.  This has gone on for weeks.  They seem to be talking past each other.

The IRGC will not honor any deal.  Ever.  So stop trying to make a deal with them.

Is there anybody in the known universe who believes there is some sort of a "ceasefire?"  Israel is still bombing Hezbollah, Iran never stopped trying to run the blockade and is still mining the Strait, and we found out the UAE has been bombing the IRGC the whole time!

ايران اينترنشنال
@IranIntl

Translated from Persian
An informed source familiar with the negotiation process told Iran International that Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf's trip to Qatar resulted in a diplomatic failure. Despite Tehran's request for the immediate and unconditional release of $12 billion in cash, to coincide with the signing of an initial memorandum of understanding with the United States, Qatari officials rejected the demand.

According to this source, Qatari officials only agreed to the release of half of this amount under stringent restrictions.

Based on statements from a source close to a Qatari official present in these talks, Doha has refrained from transferring these funds directly or in cash to Iran. Instead, the money will only be made available to Tehran as credit, allowing it to purchase essential goods and products directly from Qatar.

This restriction has been imposed at a time when the United States has strongly opposed granting the Islamic Republic direct and unrestricted access to liquid assets.

The United States has expressed concern that injecting cash directly could provide Tehran with vital economic breathing room, enabling it to pay overdue salaries to public sector employees and procure military equipment from other countries during a period of intense regional tensions.

This is getting more and more ridiculous by the hour and for Lara Trump to speculate that this whole thing could wrap up in a couple of hours is puzzling.   She's only adding to the delusion that the U.S. is in control, like Hegseth has claimed.

The longer this draws out without a resolution the more confident I am that this is a royal cluster like none other!

Live in  harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.
