The tolls and surcharge system 47 is creating will only drive the price of oil & gas higher, certainly not lower.

Positive regime change means killing all the IRGC and the Arabs that run the country, else the whole thing has been a fool's errand, and a total waste of US munitions.

I didn't say they would lower prices.  The pretmise is that these punitive actions at the Strait raises the cost of business of oil more heavily on the old OPEC group, thus making the  US Oil industry more competitive on the world stage.  More business in turn directly improves US economy including corporate taxation.  That is the back story of Drill Baby Drill.  If the windfall is as significant as is hoped,  this might put a dent in sovereign debt, as long as our lawmakers can control themselves.

Second point?  I agree, but it might be secondary in the grand scheme of things.

So ... Iran will without doubt claim that the US violated the ceasefire and the conflict will continue....only now it is likely that the War Powers Act will be passed and Trump is going to play hell trying to continue what was started.

Report: Iran’s Missing Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei ‘Unconscious’

The UK Times reported on Monday that Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is “incapacitated and receiving medical treatment in the holy city of Qom.”

The Times report was based on “a diplomatic memo understood to be based on American and Israeli intelligence and shared with Gulf allies.”

The memo said Khamenei is suffering from a “severe condition” and is “unable to be involved in any decision making by the regime.”

Qom is a provincial capital and one of the largest cities in Iran, located about 85 miles south of Tehran. The city has historic and religious significance to the Shia branch of Islam and boasts the largest Shiite madrassa (religious school) in Iran. Qom was the scene of the Iranian Army’s surrender to the Islamic revolution led by the first Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, in 1979.

Qom was hit by U.S.-Israeli airstrikes on Monday, allegedly killing at least five people. According to local officials, the target of the strike was a “residential building.” The diplomatic memo viewed by the Times evidently did not specify exactly where Khamenei is receiving treatment in the city of Qom.

Mojtaba Khamenei, 56, is the third Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, having been hastily installed in the office on March 9 to succeed his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was liquidated in the opening hours of Operation Epic Fury on February 28.

If we completely disarmed Iran, why do we have to sign an agreement with Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz? A completely disarmed Iran would not be able to threaten ships passing through the strait.

The B-2s are equipped to drop 30,000-pound bunker-buster bombs, also known as GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators, to destroy deeply fortified structures. Their immense payload allows them to strike targets at a depth beyond the reach of conventional munitions, while their flying-wing design enables them to penetrate sophisticated defenses with minimal detection.

Yesterday, I watched my state elect an extreme liberal to the Supreme Court and it troubled me terribly. So now, I’m going to watch the wildlife in my unbelievably peaceful yard. It is better for the soul.
