This is reason to have a cease fire.
Give the 'kids' time to demobilize, go home, scatter into the hills. Not playing into the human shield aspect is a wise move, and denies the second front (the domestic TDS press and politicians) the ammo it wants.
We know it will be a hudna for the Regime, but also a chance to counter with serious analysis vs the shrill pearl-clutching histrionics of the Leftists and domestic enemies right here (yeah, watch to see who, here, declares "victory" for the regime and note where and who they are, analyze their network and connections). Much has been done but this onion has more layers, and we need to gather intel on them.
But...
We can observe troop, materiel, and command movements.
We can intercept, triangulate SIGINT and see where their leaders are hiding.
We can observe which priority targets are dug out and put back in working condition first.
Observe movements through the straits and determine presence and location of minefields.
The Regime is not the only ones who can benefit from a breather.
Iran will screw this up, and the opportunity will present to use the intel.
