That is my fear. If the 11 bomb estimate is accurate and we are fairly certain of the 4000 Km distance capabilities. As i said earlier in this thread Berlin, Rome, Paris, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and London are with in range.

The Iranian hardliners running Tehran since Donald Trump killed the ayatollah are now ramping up calls to build a nuclear bomb as the regime claims it has one million fighters on standby for a US ground invasion.

Leaders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps are now considering publicly pursuing a nuclear weapon in defiance of US-Israeli strikes.

Following the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei at the start of the war, the IRGC hardliners have become a dominant force in the country. Trump claims to have wiped out Iran's hardline mullahs, but the Islamic regime is proving to be a hydra, with each new head tougher and more intent on vengeance than the last.

The regime has long denied it would pursue a nuclear bomb, with Khamenei banning nuclear weapons as forbidden under Islam. However, Western intelligence agencies have publicly stated that Iran has been secretly enriching and stockpiling uranium in pursuit of a weapon.

Tehran’s leaders are now considering quitting the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and scrapping their posturing on nuclear weapons altogether.

Sources told Reuters the relentless US-Israeli strikes have persuaded the regime it has nothing to gain by holding back from building a bomb.

Trump on Thursday extended his deadline to not strike Iranian energy plants, writing on Truth Social: 'As per Iranian Government request, please let this statement serve to represent that I am pausing the period of Energy Plant destruction by 10 Days to Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8 P.M., Eastern Time. Talks are ongoing and, despite erroneous statements to the contrary by the Fake News Media, and others, they are going very well.'

Iranian state media, meanwhile, claims more than one million troops have been mobilized in preparation for a US ground invasion to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

The buildup comes amid growing threats from Trump to seize Kharg Island, a key oil hub that helps control the vital waterway.

But teasing and taunting the bear who is currently ripping you apart is generally not recommended.

Even if this fantasy were actually true, why would Iran spit in Trump's face.

Fissile material that is weapons grade is not like cobbling together some TATP in ones underground chemistry lab.

Yeah, no I doubt very much they have a bomb capable of fission, though if the do it would be a relatively simple, Uranium "gun" weapon like Little Boy at Hiroshima. It's far more likely they would fashion a bomb from Yellowcake that they would explode to scatter over a large area as the Iranians have been doing with cluster bombs over Israel.

Trump extends deadline 2nd time for Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz as talks continue

For the second time this week, President Donald Trump extended an ultimatum for Iran to completely open the Strait of Hormuz to international shipping traffic, saying peace talks "are going very well."

The president has said in a social media post on Thursday afternoon that, upon a request from the Iranian government, he is "pausing the period of Energy Plant destruction by 10 days." Trump said the new deadline imposed on Iran is April 6 at 8 p.m. ET.

You cannot remove all of the highly enriched uranium, nuclear grade, in Iran without going into the tunnels and facilities deep underground to get it.  I don't know what the administration's plan is, but I am guessing this is at least one reason why there are public reports that some of the special forces are being called up and deployed.  For Nancy Mace to say no ground troops or I won't support the war effort is, to me, utterly irresponsible.  The administration is not talking about amassing troops for some big ground campaign, according to public reports.  Mace is now running for governor of South Carolina.  I have never been a fan for several reasons.  I trust the president to make prudential decisions in the military campaign, as he already has.  His use of the military in Iran and Venezuela has been brilliant and precise.
