🇮🇷 Trump admin is quietly modeling what happens if oil hits $200 a barrel because of the Iran war.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has reportedly been flagging concerns about oil price damage to the economy for weeks, but the White House just called that report "false" and said Bessent isn't worried about "short term disruptions from Operation Epic Fury."

Oil's already up 30% since the war started. Gas prices up 30% too.

To be clear: $200 oil has only happened once in modern history, right before the 2008 financial crisis.

🇬🇧🇫🇷 London and Paris will hold talks this week with military representatives from 30 countries to form a coalition to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a representative of the British Ministry of Defence told AFP.

Earlier, it was reported that Tehran has started charging ships a fee for safe passage through this strategically important strait.

The Iranian dissident & pro-Pahlavi Mohamed Shafiei has been shot in the Netherlands in what seems to be another IRGC assassination attempt on European soil.

Mohamed, who works as a civilian ICT employee of the police in Schoonhoven, was shot near his home.

A Pakistani source tells Reuters that Israel removed Iranian FM Abbas Araqchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bakr Kalibaf from its assassination list after Pakistan requested the U.S. intervene: "The Israelis have their coordinates and they wanted to eliminate them. We told the US that if they were eliminated, there would be no one to talk to. Therefore, the US asked the Israelis to withdraw from it."

No injuries reported after Iran’s third ballistic missile attack on central Israel today. At least one missile was intercepted, while another interception is under review.

Fragments reportedly fell in the Modiin area as sirens sounded across central Israel, Jerusalem, and Samaria.

Turkey’s strategy is always this: Be in bed with the worst regimes and terrorists, then when they have a problem with the U.S., act like a mediator to make yourself still seem like a U.S. ally.

They do this over and over because it works, because we allow them to.

Taliban, Hamas, al Qaeda, ISIS, Russia, Iran—the Turks are allies with them all then they dress up as diplomats and mediators when they need to.

Iran has opened the Strait of Hormuz to vessels from “friendly” countries, including Russia and China.

Tehran has allowed ships from a number of states to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, which the Islamic regime had closed amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic Abbas Araghchi clarified that this applies to countries Tehran considers “friends.” He named China, Russia, India, Iraq, and Pakistan among them.

According to media reports, some vessels have already begun transiting through a narrow corridor near Larak Island after prior coordination with the Iranian side.

At least one case has been reported in which a container ship belonging to a Chinese company paid for safe passage.
