The Iranian leadership, what's left of it, are in scorched earth mode. They've attacked all their neighbors. They even attacked Dubai, the Switzerland of the Middle East. Even the Nazis didn't attack Switzerland on their way out.

Now they are trying to bring down the global economy. At this point they are beyond redemption. No discussion, no negotiation, no imprisonment, just kill 'em all.

According to a report, Iran was preparing a preemptive strike on US and allied forces. Also Iran declared was on the US in 1979, killed thousands of Americans since, & was continuing to enrich to 90%.

Things change. Actions are required where none were before.

Whoever Jim Ferguson is, it looks like alarmism is his game.

B-1s being used is an escalation? Or an artifact of Iran's anti-air capabilities having been reduced to 23 mm cannon or less?

An Iranian drone carrier being sunk is an escalation? Or one of multiple sinkings of Iranian naval vessels which has been among Trump's goals for the attack?

Iran hit a Saudi oil refinery, not inconsequential, but ... unlike the alarmist impression Ferguson tried to communicate, it won't shut down the Saudi oil industry, and it changed the Saudis from cautiously permitting US use of bases in SA into an active opponent. Unlike Russia, after several years of Ukrainian refinery strikes, SA probably has plenty of equipment and skilled people to bring the refinery back online within weeks, possibly only a few weeks.

I am watching for the damage reports.  From my experience of watching refinery and chemical plant fires,  costs and down times estimates a vary wildly based on where the damage is centered.   

After we see that damage assessment, we'll see the impact on commodity prices.

I know some noisy Brits wish ill on the US, because Trump, but Iran seems to be lashing out at more or less any somewhat high-value target. I doubt they had the intel to know where US command people are housed.

I think Fettyerman knows why Senate Dems are POed and is more exasperated than baffled. The Dems and RINO Never-Trumpers are POed because Trump did this, instead of LIEden or Kammie. If either of the latter did it, the Dems and RINO Never-Trumpers would be cheering and celebrating.

Hegseth tells nation: 'We didn't start this war, but under President Trump, we are finishing it'

War Secretary Pete Hegseth addressed the nation amid Operation Epic Fury on Monday, saying the U.S. didn't start the conflict with Iran, "but under President Trump, we are finishing it."

Hegseth said Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's regime was building fleets of ballistic missiles and drones in an attempt to "create a conventional shield for their nuclear blackmail ambitions."

"To Iranian security forces: Choose wisely. President Trump has also been clear about your fate in either direction," Hegseth said.

The War Secretary went on to dismiss accusations that the attack on Iran is another "endless war" that could bog down the U.S.

"This operation is a clear, devastating, decisive mission. Destroy the missile threat. Destroy the navy. No nukes," Hegseth said. "We fight to win, and we don't waste time or lives."

Please understand that even when official IRGC bases are all gone, they will use mosques instead.

Mosque basements contain supplies, food, weapons and provide safe havens for regime thugs, which is why Iranians set them on fire during the uprising last month. Basijis would come running out of mosques armed with Kalashnikovs, shooting at everyone.

I know how hesitant both America and Israel are about targeting these, but I can assure you both the CIA and Mossad can verify what I just described.
They are no longer religious sites, but wartime facilities.

I repeat: The IRGC uses religious buildings as bases of operations. These are LEGITIMATE TARGETS.

I must say I find it puzzling that critics harp on the question of whether there was an "imminent threat" from Iran. I get that such a threat is a legal justification for action without Congressional approval. But the question suggests that threats should be allowed to become highly advanced before they can be addressed.

WASHINGTON — President Trump told The Post Monday that he’s not ruling out sending US ground troops into Iran “if they were necessary” — adding that Operation Epic Fury was “way ahead of schedule” by taking out dozens of Tehran’s top officials.

“I don’t have the yips with respect to boots on the ground — like every president says, ‘There will be no boots on the ground.’ I don’t say it,” Trump said after launching strikes Saturday to decapitate Iran’s military and political leadership. “I say ‘probably don’t need them,’ [or] ‘if they were necessary.'”

Trump told the Daily Mail on Sunday that he estimated the war would last “four weeks or so,” but hinted to The Post Monday that that timeframe could be shortened.

“It’s going to go pretty quickly,” he said. “We’re right on schedule, way ahead of schedule in terms of leadership — 49 killed — and that was, you know, going to take, we figured, at least four weeks, and we did it in one day.”
