This is the kind of thing that ultimately tears apart neighbors, destroys consensus, casts public doubt on government legitimacy, creates anger and resentment, and leads to civil unrest.

Unfortunately the Red state GOP's are choosing to be the Mike Pence contingent, always civil and above the fray, not getting themselves sullied by such unsavory and lowbrow behavior.

That said it all could backfire on the blue states if we get dynamic and articulate candidates that can convert Indies and Rats to their message. Rats are forgetting how Trump won but cutting across demographics with a message and campaigning that landed votes.

But... I know better.
After all, spanberger won by 15 points. That's not even close.

So, my preidiction is that the left will win on this, but the final tally will be somewhat "closer".
Still, they'll win.

BREAKING🚨: Virginia voters just PASSED the outrageous Democratic gerrymandering map — expected to hand 10 seats to Democrats and only 1 to Republicans, per DDHQ.

This turns a purple state into a near-total blue lock, disenfranchising huge swaths of Virginia voters. Courts must step in.

Yeah, Florida is not an option.  A fair districts amendment passed some time ago.  Also, the party will fail to hold all of the seats it has now because Trump is cratering.  The Republicans are going to lose control of the House until at least 2031.

FL has a GOP majority because of DeSantis -- not because of Trump.  Just sayin'  DeSantis has proven he is a strong and very competent leader.  Unfortunately, DeSantis is term limited which yes, could be the end of FL staying red.  I'm hoping for Byron Donalds as governor. He is endorsed by Trump but he also has a conservative record.  FL has done well with voters voting for a conservative legislature.

We'll know in a few months.  It's been a nice conservative ride in FL.  I'm hoping that continues.

This is pretty bleak, but the Virginia map is 6:5 Republican in a wave election ... which is quite possible if an imbecile like Gavin Newsom is President in 2030.  Every map gets redrawn in 2031.

The Dems did an exceptional job of evening out the populations among the districts (avoiding a GAFFNEY v. CUMMINGS challenge).

Average voting population per district:  784,672
Standard deviation: 0.2%

With evenly distributed populations, it will be very difficult for Democrats to hold 10 seats with such a slim majority.


Vindman (Hardline Communist) will likely switch from District 7 to District 1.
Kiggins (R) will remain in District 2 and has a chance of winning it.
Scott and McClellan (Dems) are safe in Districts 3 and 4 respectively.
Wittman (R) should move to District 5.
McGuire and Cline (Reps) will likely challenge each other for District 6 nomination.  With the right climate, a Republican could win this one.

Incumbents should win the remainder.

Not sure of the margins, but maybe the actual count did vote it down. Considering Spanberger's hard shift Left from the claimed "moderate", I admit this surprises me.

Same here.. came here in 1995, while in the AF.  I took the assignment to Langley AFB in Hampton partly because VA was a well-run state that was reliably red during federal elections.  George Allen was Governor, the Senate was slightly controlled by dems and the House of Delegates by the GOP.  Then in the mid-2000s, it all started to go to shit.  Aside from the anomalies of Bob McDonnell and Glenn Youngkin, it’s been dying ever since.

Low turnout where it counted.  It only passed by 41,000 votes.  Rural Virginia had an excellent chance to stop this thing cold but the apathy and laziness of those who never bothered to vote won out.
