In high school many of us band member in the early to mid '70's had this admiration for the likes of BS & T, Ides of March, and Chicago as a genre.
Personally, I was in the Chicago camp as far preferences.  So much so, I pretty much learned every James Pankow part for the first 6 albums.

They lost a founding member as well this week.

You may need meds.
The meds might be why.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

We may need a new Supergroup: Blood, sweat, tears, earth, wind and fire!
Lets go all out and add Emmerson, Lake , and Palmer.

Victor Willis, Village People lead singer and voice behind 'Y.M.C.A.,' dies at 75

Quote
Victor Willis, the lead singer of the Village People and the distinctive voice behind disco classics including "Y.M.C.A.," "Go West," and "In the Navy," has died. He was 75.

"We are profoundly sad to announce the death of VICTOR WILLIS, lead singer of Village People," the band said in a statement on its social media pages. "Victor passed on Monday June 30, 2026 of a short but aggressive illness. Privacy is requested."

Victor Edward Willis was born in Dallas on July 1, 1951. The son of a Baptist preacher, Willis grew up singing in church before pursuing a career in musical theater. After moving to New York, he appeared in Broadway productions including The Wiz and worked as a session singer before teaming up with producers Jacques Morali and Henri Belolo to form the Village People.

The group's self-titled debut album was released in 1977 and spawned the single "San Francisco (You've Got Me)." The band became known for its camp theatricality and themed costumes, with members dressing as hyper-masculine archetypes including a police officer, construction worker, cowboy and sailor.

Its 1978 hit "Y.M.C.A.," co-written by Willis, became one of the best-known songs of the disco era, and the accompanying dance became a fixture at sporting events, weddings and parties around the world. The song was inducted into the Library of Congress's National Recording Registry in 2020.

The group sold an estimated 100 million records worldwide and was recognized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2008.

Man!

This thread can be hard to find. We should pin it for easy access.

By the time I find it, I forgot who died.

We’re old now you know. Even I’m the same age as old people now.

sigh… anyway.

Ok since I'm an idiot....   What the heck is pinned and where do I find it?  Say for instance if I want to find the Nancy Guthrie thread that hadn't been posted to in weeks let's say.  I usually have to go find my old post on that thread to be able to find that thread or any thread.  If I do search I can usually never find what I'm looking for...

Any pointers?  The search feature is quite lacking unless of course I don't know how to properly use it.

It should be at the top of the list when you go into the General Discussion section, bold and with a blue background. There are a few pinned threads so the one with the most activity is on top but it's there.

And now that you have posted in thread, you can indeed now use that as a sort of bookmark. You'll find some of our members will simply post "bkmk" or a 🔖 symbol for that functionality.

@Idiot OBITS are in the GENERAL CATAGORY
If you click on 'The Briefing Room' (right below the HOME button) it will list all the categories.  I believe the Guthrie Thread is in the 'Crime and Punishment' category stickied at the top.
