So, not only was there a conspiracy involving thousands of Americans - mostly U.S. government employees - but necessarily involving thousands of Soviet military personnel, and the upper echelons of the Soviet military and political leadership, since the Soviets had deep space tracking assets and were able to track the Apollo craft from Earth to the Moon, and back.

Wow.  And Richard Nixon couldn't even keep a petty break-in quiet.

There is a Grand Canyon of difference between losing a laptop and willfully giving an adversary the most highly classified data a country has [ none of which would have been on a State Dept laptop ].

Why should we just accept the Government's lie that there is such a thing as the 'moon'?

Maybe the 'moon' is a cover story for the CIA satellite that controls the tides.
