So, not only was there a conspiracy involving thousands of Americans - mostly U.S. government employees - but necessarily involving thousands of Soviet military personnel, and the upper echelons of the Soviet military and political leadership, since the Soviets had deep space tracking assets and were able to track the Apollo craft from Earth to the Moon, and back.

Wow.  And Richard Nixon couldn't even keep a petty break-in quiet.

Gotta put this on ignor.  You all have lost your minds.
You don’t become cooler with age but you do care progressively less about being cool, which is the only true way to actually be cool.

That is not a conspiracy. That is a job. But even then, it is not how such operations are run in the United States government, and threats of that nature are illegal.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

You are so wildly wrong that it is laughable. There is absolutely no way your method would work for me or any of my co-workers. Once you are inside NSA, there is no way to figure out who is working on what, when, where, why, or how. Unless of course your name is Eddie Snowjob who stole methods and means at his CCP Chinese handlers requests. The public blurb of what he did is just a media cover up [ which was all in the public domain and had been for 30 years ]. Many were killed as a result of the data he gave to the Chinese, Russians, Al-Qaeda, & Iran.
Like Madeline Albright losing her laptop? (one of three State Dept. laptops that got in the wind).

(I only hope the assets listed in it were a plant that took out the other side, and not a true list.)
But then they advertised the 'loss' so anyone who wanted a peek could bid on it with whoever recovered it. **nononono*

There is a Grand Canyon of difference between losing a laptop and willfully giving an adversary the most highly classified data a country has [ none of which would have been on a State Dept laptop ].
