Part of the lyrics to 'Silver Bells' - "As the shoppers rush Home with their treasures"

I truly miss those Christmas shopping days ... very few stores have remained opened, so it's now on-line shopping (you know where hackers can steal all your information).

Half of the joy of Christmas was looking for and finding that special gift for someone.

It's truly a shame those days are gone.

When I was little we went to visit relatives in Chicago. A store there turned an area into shopping for kids. All the gifts were inexpensive and the sales people were short teens. No adults allowed. It was much fun and I sure felt grown up doing my own shopping! happy77

I don't know if the schools still do so, but for us we could shop for inexpensive items at school. Yes, not only feeling grown up, but being able to shop on our own.  For single parents especially, their child got a chance to get them a gift for Christmas.
