Story time: I usually do some sort of Christmas show each year. This year I was left out--I wasn't thrilled about that but that's a story neither here nor there. But a long-running karaoke hostess invited me to a couple of parties and sing about a half-dozen songs, both Christmas and regular. I did a couple of country favorites, and then...
Lastly, I decided to do a song that takes place around Christmas, though people don't generally associate it with it (I'd say it's more a New Year song since it's about people hooking up). The drum beat and piano riff kicks in, and the CROWD. GOES. WILD. I've got a bunch of middle-aged women liquored up on Tom & Jerrys singing along like it's Livin' on a dang Prayer or Don't Stop Believin'. It was absolutely wild and one of the most fun experiences I've ever had as a performer.
That song: The Four Seasons, "December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night)."
