Well, she's done..art least in the Maga/Repub Party...
Maybe I just am not "MAGA" enough.
It's hard to argue with what she said. Pelosi was insanely effective as speaker. She even helped set up the J6 mess so the electoral votes wouldn't be contested. It worked. Face it.
Would that we had Republicans with the gavel who were that effective.
And she pointed out that the impression of Trump's travels is that foreign policy is taking precedent over domestic policy.
While it is going to take a mix of both to sort trade agreements and try to keep us out of a war, some of this affects things at home too. Still it isn't being shown that way in the media, and if a tariff increases the price of one item on the shelf, the media will focus on that and ignore other things that have been getting better.
All that plays into the '
we need those wetbacks to pick the crops' nonsense, and claiming trade policy is failing at home. The media have not failed to shift blame in even the most ridiculous instances, like it must be ICE's fault that they are trying to enforce the law and deport people who are here illegally if some paid protester steps up and manages to get hurt.
AI isn't getting credit for job losses, either, and that's as much of a sea change in the paper shuffling world as walking rigs and multiwell pads changed the oil drilling industry (3/4 of the people involved in moving oil rigs from one location to the next lost/changed jobs because they were not needed to move rigs as often). Between AI and electronic documents, and even machines to stuff envelopes, a lot of clerical positions are going to disappear.
It's key to keep in mind that the GOP needs to have domestic policy 'wins' that play in the press, because even the 'wins' are being portrayed in a negative light, and that includes saving money and trimming waste, because there is so damn much waste that the painful side is going to be readily available to put on the 6 o'clock news. If the news doesn't just concentrate on the 'collateral damage' of new hires getting cut (even if they were doing a lot of the grunt work).
Again, the stinking media are not being the least bit fair with their Democrat/Leftist bias, but the TDS is strong with that lot.
