I will admit I have never been a fan of the filibuster though I can understand the arguments for it. I know the Founders put in checks and balances in to slow down the pace of Government from doing kneejerk things, but to me it always was a bridge too far. No state I'm aware of has the filibuster and we have many well run states despite that.

I thought it went back to approving some judge on the GOP side in W term? That's where the term "nuclear option" even comes from.

Don't think if the Dems get back in power they will not do the same and end the filly.  So maybe Trump is right to do it now and take advantage of his congressional advantage.
