You know, when Putin spoke on about how the previous administration, aka Biden, escalated the war. Why didn’t Putin just say Joe Biden? Is that a hint he wasn’t the one in control? Which we know already I guess

I am more thinking about the Putin guy poisoning Trump somehow. Everywhere the Putin guy went, everything he touched, should be scanned and examined. He wants to kill Trump even more than Hillary, Schumer, and all the Democrats would do.

No ceasefire announced.

So Russia is managing to stall the secondary sanctions some more, in return for another delaying meeting, while giving up nothing in return.

Yes, Russia is having a successful meeting!

Yep.  And through all of this, Russia has never promised to end this war, or even agree to a cease fire.  Russia has made demands that can never be met short of the wholesale subjugation of the entire nation of Ukraine.  Just listen to their words.  Listen to what they say.  They are telling you outright that they have no intention of ending their war against the entire Ukrainian population.  It won't end with Zaporizhzhia.  It won't end with Kherson.  It won't end with Sumi.  Not with Kharkhiv.  Not with Dnipro.  Not with Kyiv.  It will end only when Russian troops occupy Odesa and Lviv and are parked on Romanian and Polish borders.  Don't believe me?  Then listen to Putin.  He says it.  He's been saying it since 2021.

Or his face is swollen from Prednisone.

Yeah...I was wondering about that too.  That guy did *not* look or act like Putin at all.  I've looked at enough pictures of the real dictator to believe that this was one of his body doubles, possibly the loser who gets sent to Crimea or Mariupol or some other place in or near the war zone when a photo op is needed.  The real Putin has a lot more wrinkles, has a different posture and gait, and NO sense of humor.

Quote
Russian president Vladimir Putin's latest excursion after the failed coup attempt by Yevgeny Prigozhin and his Wagner mercenaries has once again sparked rumours of the Kremlin strongman using body doubles to avoid assassination.

Observers have pointed to Putin's changing appearance over the years as possible evidence that he uses someone else to stand in for him on engagements he either does not want to make or considers too dangerous, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

The speculation ran rife again when Putin made a surprise visit to Derbent in southern Russia's Dagestan region, with footage showing the usually stoic and stand-offish Putin energetically greeting crowds, taking selfies and planting kisses on the head of a  young teenage girl who gushed over him.

Sounds like THIS was the dude who showed up in Anchorage, and would explain why Lavrov was there to serve as his minder.

Right, and Trump seemed disappointed when he was walking out of the meeting.  No press conference afterward is very unlike him.

What we make of the Trump-Putin meeting: Vlad’s not ready for peace — but our prez still sees hope of getting there

"Vladimir Putin really, really wants a deal that will let him come in from the cold — but so far won’t commit to even the bare minimum of concessions, namely that Ukraine must remain securely free.

President Donald Trump heard enough to make him think it’s worth keeping the talks going, which means the Russians at least hinted convincingly that they might bend enough.

But no cease-fire, even a partial one, is close — and a lasting peace deal is even farther off.

Putin’s longwinded remarks about US-Russian friendship were so much wishcasting: He still hopes to romance Trump into giving away the store ...."

MSNBC host explodes live on air over Putin talks, rants Trump 'doesn't give a s--- about democracy'
Nicolle Wallace's jabs were filled with innuendos about Trump and Putin touching at summit talks
By Joseph A. Wulfsohn , Kristine Parks Fox News
Published August 15, 2025 7:56pm EDT

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace cursed live on air while on a tear against President Donald Trump and his high-stakes summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin Friday, claiming that the U.S. leader "doesn’t give a s--- about democracy."

"It’s so much to watch our country’s president stand with the person responsible for all that suffering and all that death. It’s just heinous," Wallace said of the highly-anticipated talks about ending Russia's war with Ukraine.

"It’s indiscriminate strikes on apartments that kill not enough innocent civilians to dominate the headlines for days and days. It’s the terror. It’s the terror of sending your kid off to school because you want life to be somewhat normal. But you know that any day Russia could bomb anywhere in Ukraine," Wallace continued.

"I mean, it’s watching them scrape and struggle to get an American president who supported them, to give them all the weapons they needed to go toe-to-toe with Russia," she said. "And to see all that potentially erased by an American president who just doesn’t give a s--- about democracy. He doesn’t care about our allies. He doesn’t care about a democratic ally's sovereignty."

The "Deadline: White House" host also made several suggestive jabs about Trump's body language during his photo-op with Putin.

"I mean, it just seems like even from the first Trump presidency, where you had people like Ambassador Bill Taylor, Marie Yovanovitch or Fiona Hill, there’s no one around Donald Trump who can even explain why he shouldn’t touch Putin so many times in front of the cameras," she added. "They're gone."

"I mean, it’s so embarrassing," Wallace reacted. "You’re waiting for him to say, ‘He looks so nice in his suit and his abs are cut. There’s a six-pack under there if you get to see it like I [do].’ I mean, it’s disgusting."

"There’s a lot of touching," she said. "I don’t know that we always see him touching Melania as much as he touched Putin today. The handshake and then the hand on top of the hand. I mean, everything that over nine years we’ve learned about Trump, this is as fawning as he can be with any public figure he’s ever photographed with."

Can anyone vouch for this?  Did this happen?  I know Trump was anti-Reagan back then, but anti-NATO ads?

Trump wasn't there to negotiate a peace treaty, which he, himself, said can't be done without Zelensky.

Trump went to determine if peace is possible --- and since only the US has the military and economic power to squeeze peace out of Putin --- he went to assess what he's going to have to do to make it happen.

Now Trump must bring the EU and Ukraine onboard -- using monosyllabic words to explain his plan.

Hopefully, this is the last ounce of energy we waste on Europeans.

Trump Gives Shout-Out To Belarus Before Meeting With Putin

Quote
“I had a wonderful talk with the highly respected President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko. The purpose of the call was to thank him for the release of 16 prisoners,” Trump stated.

Trump's a damned fool for sucking up to that fat and worthless toadie Lukashenko.  There's literally NOBODY else in the world who respects him, even Putin, who finds him a useful tool and butt kisser.

Trump, Zelensky to meet Monday at White House
by Brett Samuels - 08/16/25 6:46 AM ET

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet with President Trump on Monday at the White House in the aftermath of Trump’s summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska.

Trump spoke with Zelensky and European leaders while on Air Force One returning home from his first face-to-face meeting with Putin since his first term in office.

“It was determined by all that the best way to end the horrific war between Russia and Ukraine is to go directly to a Peace Agreement, which would end the war, and not a mere Ceasefire Agreement, which often times do not hold up,” Trump posted on Truth Social early Saturday morning.

“President Zelenskyy will be coming to D.C., the Oval Office, on Monday afternoon. If all works out, we will then schedule a meeting with President Putin,” he added.

Melania Trump sends letter to Putin about abducted Ukrainian children
By Shane Galvin
Published Aug. 16, 2025
Updated Aug. 16, 2025, 1:36 a.m. ET

First lady Melania Trump wrote a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin raising concerns over the plight of abducted children in Ukraine, White House officials revealed Friday.

President Trump hand-delivered the letter written by his Slovenian-born wife to his Russian counterpart during their high-stakes summit at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska, on Friday.

Though the contents of the letter are private, those with knowledge said it pertained to abductions of children resulting from the war in Ukraine.

The battle-torn nation claimed Russia has abducted tens of thousands of Ukrainian children and sent them to Russia or Russia-occupied territory without the consent of their families.

Russia has claimed it did so to protect children from warzone conditions.

The letter was the first lady’s second foray into foreign relations with the Eastern European world power.

NEW — President Trump says his late night phone call with President Zelenskyy went “very well” and the Ukrainian President will be heading to the White House Monday. The goal is now to move straight to a full peace agreement rather than a ceasefire.

If anybody has any doubt  if Donald Trump is submissive to Vladimir Putin, well that Alaskan summit proved that he is

Ronald Reagan would be rolling in his grave. Look how Trump was towards Vladimir Putin versus Zelensky earlier this year

How embarrassing
