KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday rejected the idea that his country would give up land to end the war with Russia after U.S. President Donald Trump suggested a peace deal could include “some swapping of territories.”

Zelenskyy said Ukraine “will not give Russia any awards for what it has done” and that “Ukrainians will not give their land to the occupier.”

Later Saturday, European and Ukrainian officials met with U.S. Vice President JD Vance in England to discuss how to end the more than three-year war. The talks came after Trump said he would meet with Vladimir Putin even if the Russian leader would not meet with Zelenskyy.

Representatives from the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Finland and Poland attended the meeting in Kent, Zelenskyy said in a post on X, calling the talks constructive.

“I have not heard any partners express doubts about America’s ability to ensure that the war ends,” Zelenskyy said. “The President of the United States has the levers and the determination.”

So he's negotiating with the invader...without the invaded being present. If territory is ceded to Russia as a reward to ceasefire, it will only encourage more encroachment. Maybe not tomorrow, but give it time.

This is the only way.  Zelenskyy's recalcitrance has torpedoed every attempt to negotiate.  After this much fighting he has to realize the Eastern Oblasts are lost and Ukraine doesn't have the forces to liberate them.  Ukraine has done an admirable job of making Russia pay in blood and treasure (the whole Country could have been lost), but they are out of options in a world weary of this war.

Trump has done a fine job of looking the fool in how he has dealt with Putin.  Trump knows nothing of the Russian mentality.  I tell you, Putin sees Trump no differently than Obama or Biden.  He sees one weak man after another.  Trump placating Putin, suggesting Russia should be in the G7, etc....pure idiocy.

Come November, Trump should provide Ukraine with enough missiles to take out every plant producing energy in the metro Moscow area.  Ukraine should send teams to demolish the transit system, and blow up expanses of roads and rail lines that shut down everything in Moscow.  Starve and freeze the people, and they will rise up. 

And I am certain Trump has promised amounts of money to Ukraine that far exceed the Marshall Plan.

And for those speculating he will attack the Baltic states, all three are now part of NATO.  Putin would not dare do that.  US and German military forces are stationed in all three countries.  It would mean WWIII, and Putin cannot deal with Ukraine, even before the USA and Europe got involved, Ukraine was holding its own.

Attacking NATO countries would mean WWIII, and you can count on nuclear weapons being used.

It is very possible that Putin is a madman.  He may have a tumor on the brain.  Who knows?  His decisions make no sense.  As a dictator, he answers to no one.

I say provide Ukraine with all the weaponry to bring Moscow to its knees.  Take out what I mentioned above, and this war could be over come spring time.

Trump is making Chamberlain look decisive.

The problem with Russia is that the people are so brain washed, they literally think they lead the world in everything.  They think they invented everything from the auto, light bulb, and potato.  I  watched a movie with Clark Gable and Gene Tierney the other night on TCM that gave a very accurate presentation of the Russian mind.  The movie was titled Never Let Me Go.  A very interesting movie, that I had never seen before.
