I’m thrilled to share that the Supreme Court has just ruled, in Medina v. Planned Parenthood of South Atlantic, that South Carolina is free to defund Planned Parenthood by disqualifying abortion businesses from its Medicaid program.
This 6-3 ruling is a massive win for life, women’s health, and common sense. Taxpayers should not be forced to fund a radical, multi-billion-dollar organization that specializes in political activism, abortion, and providing dangerous drugs to children who identify as the opposite sex—especially an organization that doesn’t provide the comprehensive healthcare that’s available at ~200 other publicly funded clinics throughout the state.
This ruling would not have been possible without the courageous leadership of SC Governor @henrymcmaster, whose administration persevered through many years of legal battles to achieve this victory. Thanks to SC’s stand, other states are now free to protect life and support women by directing tax dollars toward real healthcare.
Planned Parenthood doesn’t need Americans’ tax dollars. And Americans don’t need Planned Parenthood.
Congratulations to my @ADFLegal colleague @john_bursch, who argued this case before the Court. We were honored to represent SC as it stood up for women, children, and taxpayers—and to get our 16th Supreme Court victory on their behalf.
