  • Ah, the air is so much fresher here...

The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 on Thursday that states are allowed to cut off Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood. The ruling came in response to a case out of South Carolina.

The case centered around whether patients on Medicaid, a government health insurance program for low-income patients, can sue in order to choose their own qualified healthcare provider. South Carolina was sued under Section 1983 after the state blocked Medicaid funds from going to Planned Parenthood in 2018, citing law prohibiting public funds for abortions.

Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote in the opinion for the court, "Section 1983 permits private plaintiffs to sue for violations of federal spending-power statutes only in ‘atypical’ situations … where the provision in question ‘clear[ly]’ and ‘unambiguous[ly]’ confers an individual ‘right.’" He wrote that the law in question "is not such a statute."

I’m thrilled to share that the Supreme Court has just ruled, in Medina v. Planned Parenthood of South Atlantic, that South Carolina is free to defund Planned Parenthood by disqualifying abortion businesses from its Medicaid program.

This 6-3 ruling is a massive win for life, women’s health, and common sense. Taxpayers should not be forced to fund a radical, multi-billion-dollar organization that specializes in political activism, abortion, and providing dangerous drugs to children who identify as the opposite sex—especially an organization that doesn’t provide the comprehensive healthcare that’s available at ~200 other publicly funded clinics throughout the state.

This ruling would not have been possible without the courageous leadership of SC Governor @henrymcmaster, whose administration persevered through many years of legal battles to achieve this victory. Thanks to SC’s stand, other states are now free to protect life and support women by directing tax dollars toward real healthcare.

Planned Parenthood doesn’t need Americans’ tax dollars. And Americans don’t need Planned Parenthood.

Congratulations to my @ADFLegal colleague @john_bursch, who argued this case before the Court. We were honored to represent SC as it stood up for women, children, and taxpayers—and to get our 16th Supreme Court victory on their behalf.

Absolutely a positive outcome for life.  Planned Parenthood is the current day entity practicing eugenics with great success.  It is a dark chapter in our history that eugenics is so thoroughly embraced, and the targeted demographics are completely obtuse to that fact.

Margaret Sanger has a bust in the Civil Rights section of the Smithsonian Museum.  Totally incredulous!!!  Meanwhile, she is dancing in her grave knowing that the primary means of death for blacks is abortion.  Eugenics has been winning for 50+ years.
