Trump blasts sinking poll numbers on eve of his 100th day in office: ‘They are sick’
By Emily Crane
Published April 28, 2025, 7:54 a.m. ET

President Trump on Monday blasted “unheard of” polls showing low approval ratings on the eve of his 100th day in office — calling on the “fake news” outlets behind them to be investigated for election fraud.

The commander-in-chief took aim at the recent New York Times and ABC/Washington Post surveys that indicate sinking support, declaring that “they suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

“The New York Times has only 37% Trump 2024 voters, and the ABC/Washington Post Poll has only 34% Trump Voters, unheard of numbers unless looking for a negative result, which they are,” he raged in a Truth Social post.

“These people should be investigated for ELECTION FRAUD, and add in the FoxNews Pollster while you’re at it.
“They are Negative Criminals who apologize to their subscribers and readers after I WIN ELECTIONS BIG, much bigger than their polls showed I would win, loose a lot of credibility, and then go on cheating and lying for the next cycle, only worse,” he seethed in the post.

“They suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome, and there is nothing that anyone, or anything, can do about it. THEY ARE SICK,” he added.

He is psychologically collapsing. And it doesn’t help that he surrounds himself with people that accommodate every whim and crazy idea coming out of his mind.

Expect him to get much worse. It may entertain his red caps. But, just as we saw in his first term, it’s turning off everybody else.

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

YOU fault the President for questioning polls from the NY Times and ABC, but *he's* the one psychologically collapsing?     It's nice to see our comic relief is posting again.  88devil

He is psychologically collapsing. He isn’t just questioning polls. He’s lashing out irrationally. He’s also lashing out at Fox News. A news organization that’s bent backwards to prop him up.

You don’t see it and I wouldn’t expect you would. But the American people do. And that’s what ultimately matters.

The way that he’s lashing out, tells me that he does believe that these polls are real. I suspect his own internal polls probably show the same

His behaviors are going to get more erratic and much worse.

How are you defining "lashing out" at Fox News, as you alluded earlier.

And to @Right_in_Virginia  's point.  The MSM has 24/7 lied.  Why would he or anyone mentally competent  believe them?

Well, I guess just I leave you with this.

Your snarky posts are  a defense mechanism. I can spot the tactic very easily.  But they don’t make reality go away despite how badly you want it to

If you notice, he’s not countering his dismal polling. He’s just refusing to accept it. And most of this problem stems from the fact that he lives in his own bubble that’s reaffirmed by the people he surround himself with.

No, grocery and egg prices are not “too low.”  No, he did not win the 2024 election by a landslide with a mandate. These are just facts. But nobody in his circle will tell him otherwise.

And we’re all gonna pay a price

So let men get this straight....

1. Tariff negotiations could easily go well, and the U.S. enters into a new era of international free trade
2. Said new trade world order will isolate the Chicoms from predatory trade practices and currency manipulation
3. Trillions of new investment in the United States will jumpstart the US into a new era of manufacturing
4. Smoke clears and nations realize that free trade processes are best, and tariffs only applicable as a means that Coolidge discussed and endorsed.,
5. You  believe the Left MSM's continued propaganda?  No one said, there might not be a little short term pain, but I tell you,...  I thank God that there aren't more like you, if we face something like World War 2..  Sometimes toughness, bravery, and perseverance outweigh getting that Chicom trinket for a few bucks less.

I for one, applaud DJT for taking the proverbial "kick me" sticker off our backs.  Let's  how this plays out before being tools of the dims and their toadies......... the corrupt and dishonest MSM.

The level of denial that I’m seeing with Trump supporters would make the Biden team blush

Any suggestion that the economy wasn’t doing that great or Biden’s mental state had issues was met with the same attacks by Democrats. In fact, they stayed in their same state of denial right up to election night.

Trump had the advantage in 2024 because he was on the outside. Now he is on the inside and the voters are not impressed.

This tariff rollout has been chaotic.  Donald Trump did not put his 90 day pause  as a favor to other countries. It was because investor started dumping treasury bonds. Now other countries know how to get him to blink.

He didn’t pull back on some of his tariffs on China as an act of good will. He did it because some corporations warned him of empty shelves as a result. But what he ended up doing was strengthening in China’s hand. And now with him showing weakness on the international stage and being an unpopular president, foreign countries, both friend and foe, know that he is weak.

Like I’ve said before, he would’ve been better off doing nothing when it came to China than what he did. And there’s conflicting messaging coming from the administration. . Last week, the president claimed that we were talking to China. China denies this.

All during the campaign, and even at the start of his presidency, Trump and his supporters would dismiss anybody who would suggest that prices would rise with his tariffs. Now we’re being told we have to suffer.

Does anybody think that will sell to voters? Blaming the mainstream media for Donald Trump’s problems of his own making isn’t gonna work, either.

Thanks....
Through this whole damned thing, I have not heard even one decent alternative to Trump's plan.  Even as we stare down a $38T fiscal deficit, and an annual trade deficit of over a Trillion dollars a year.   The direction we are going is not sustainable.  In the real world of 40 years ago, and RWR, the concept of free trade was tanglbile and achievable, but now some mid course adjustments are needed to infuse some needed equity.

Let's also not forget that Trump is the first in my historical memory who has taken this seriously, with DOGE and gutting the regulatory presence that threw this country into bureaucratic hell.  I'm sad we have conservatives that have taken the MSM bait,. but we'll see how this plays out.  If it does go as planned, it will usher in a great era of prosperity,

National polls were only off by about a point in the 2024 election.  But the trend is most important, and it is clearly heading in the wrong direction, no matter which survey you choose.  He needs to resolve his tariff mess or he's going to be a lame duck by summer.

Any alternative is going to be much more difficult at this stage.  Had he been more patient, he could have worked with other trading partners to punish China.  He really should have strategized with some bright minds before attacking Canada on the eve of an important election, and then launching a trade war with the world.  The backpedaling just exposes him as a paper tiger.

Thank you for confirming the point I’ve been making all along tipping hat!! His mental state is falling apart. Making me the issue doesn’t change that. Those declining poll  numbers have really hit a nerve with him and his supporters, judging by his and their reactions

It was Donald Trump that made his problems. Not I. Not the mainstream media.

He’s also trying to find distractions from his failing presidency. That’s why he did his Columbus Day announcement.  I doubt that’s an issue that’s on the mind of the public at large.

Those of us who called out Biden’s mental state were also attacked. But we were right, weren’t we?

And I’m pretty safe and assuming that you also made the same assessment when it came to Biden’s mental decline despite you yourself being in the cheap seats at 30,000 feet wink777

Nice try at mental ju-jitsu but you are the issue because you hype canarded a declaration for which you have no evidence, as proven by your cherry-picked poll numbers by leftists who know how to rig polls.

He is back on the 51st state business this morning, campaigning for president of Canada.  Either he is nuts, or trying to help the Liberals win another majority, which is stupid in its own right.  Poilievre had a 25 point lead before the trade war.  We could have used a prosperous and friendly neighbor, and now we're going to have a pile of crap on either side.

Trump is treating the polls as if they were Neilson Ratings.  Don't worry, Orange One, you'll recoup costs and profits during syndication and by merchandising.
