Here’s a breakdown of the BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars America’s Ivy League schools rake in
March 27, 2025 | Nicole Haas
Ivy League schools have been raking in cash from all sides, while many of their students believing they’re getting a superior degree go into debt.
Despite receiving billions in endowments, eight of America’s Ivy League schools have received approximately $6.4 billion more in federal funding, Fox News reported.
The top recipients were Columbia University, the University of Pennsylvania and Yale which raked in $1.3 billion, $1.8 billion and $898.7 million of taxpayer cash in 2024 respectively.
Other recipients for 2024 are listed below:
Cornell University: $825.5 million
Harvard University: $686.5 million
Princeton University: $455 million
Brown University: $254 million, according to USA Spending
Dartmouth: $141.9 million
Federal funding for schools has been criticized by the Trump administration that’s threatened to halt payments if they don’t eliminate DEI agendas.
The administration has already paused $175 million of federal funds to the University of Pennsylvania for allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports. Columbia has also been warned a windfall of $400 could be cut off for antisemitism riots on campus, Fox noted.
Each year, the Department of Education provides around $100 billion in student loans and more than $30 billion in Pell Grants. Despite Trump’s directive to eliminate the Department of Education, he has expressed his intention to keep Pell Grants intact and transfer student loan management to the Small Business Administration.
