They *were* war plans, and it *was* (obviously) classified material. This whole Signal-gate scandal is a shockingly egregious f*ck-up that could have had catastrophic repercussions for US forces in combat on that operation.
President Trump should roll some heads.

Those are today's official DNC talking points. Several members of Congress are demanding that Hegseth go, from Fauxcahontas to Jeffries.

Me neither. Although I will acknowledge they need to be more careful.
While the sleazy lefty MSM has given its annual stamp of Watergate already with 24/7 blathering.  Pretty laughable.

GOP lawmakers turn up the pressure on Hegseth
by Alexander Bolton - 03/27/25 6:00 AM ET

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is under close scrutiny as Republican lawmakers criticize his handling of sensitive military information in a group chat with other administration officials that inadvertently included a journalist.

Republican lawmakers have stopped short of calling on Hegseth to resign, but they’re warning that his decision to share sensitive details about a pending military strike against Houthi rebels in Yemen over Signal, a commercial app, is a clear “strike” against him.

“I think they should make sure it never happens again. I wish they’d tell us, ‘It will never happen again.’ It’s the first strike in the early stages of an administration,” said Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. “Don’t let it ever happen again.”

“I don’t know how many strikes you get. In baseball you get three. Maybe this is worst two,” he added. “If mistakes like this continue to happen, we’ll deal with them as it happens. My hope and my expectation is that it won’t.”

Another Republican senator said that President Trump is “not happy” but noted that so far the president is sticking by Hegseth and national security adviser Mike Waltz, who reportedly assembled the group chat, which included Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor in chief of The Atlantic.

Trump on Tuesday downplayed the controversy, calling it “the only glitch in two months.”

Leave it to the shill to throw gas on the fire.

My advice to the GOP?  Counter that we saw no dim resignations after they:

(1)  sponsored and wasted billions in USAID debacle
(2) 13 Brave souls and heros failed to return from Afghanistan
(3) 10M and thousands of illegal aliens poured across the border '21-'24
(4) Turning the cheeks at many 1000's died of Fentanyl
(5) Allowed a brain dead POTUS to reside at the WH

So, yeah spare us the hypocrisy, and grow a pair, and to tell the MSM to F-- themselves

Hegseth had nothing to do with it, by all accounts. If it's on anyone, it's on Mike Waltz or perhaps Alex Wong, according to Ken Blackwell on Facebook (and assuming Loomer isn't just blathering crazy talk):
Quote
Ken Blackwell

Alex Wong is the individual who added Jeffrey Goldberg to the Signal chat.
Alex Wong is Mike Walz' National Security Advisor.

According to Laura Loomer:

- Alex Wong, the Chinese Deputy National Security Advisor is married to U.S. Attorney Candice Chiu Wong, a Chinese Woman who was one of the key attorneys involved in PROSECUTING J6ers.
- Alex’s wife, Candice Chiu Wong, worked under the Obama admin and the Biden admin as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, where she led the Violence Reduction and Trafficking Offenses Section for more than two years.
- She was involved in the prosecution of many J6ers during the Biden regime, under which she was nominated to become a Member of the United States Sentencing Commission. Additionally, Candice Chiu Wong served as a Law Clerk to Obama-appointed US Supreme Court Justice Sonia M. Sotomayor!
- Making matters worse, Alex Wong worked for Covington & Burling which is one of the law firms the President recently stripped of its security clearance and terminated all of their government contracts via Executive Order on February 25th, 2025. Trump accused CovingtonLLP of being involved in the weaponization of government.
- Given the Chinese connections, it really makes you wonder if Jeffrey Goldberg was added to the Trump Signal chat on purpose as part of a foreign opp to embarrass the Trump admin on behalf of China.

SIDE NOTE:
Jeffrey Goldberg said a “war plan” was released that contained “precise information about weapons packages, targets, and timing.”.
THAT WAS A LIE.

What Goldberg actually released—something he could have shared from the start—is not a “war plan.” There are no names, no specific targets or locations, and no coordinates. It basically just says some F-18s will strike a terrorist somewhere today.
Alex Wong needs to be investigated and terminatated.

Trump says he 'always thought' Waltz was responsible for Signal chat scandal
Trump said the media's reaction to the Signal scandal was a 'witch hunt'
By Rachel Wolf Fox News
Published March 27, 2025 8:35am EDT

President Donald Trump appeared to place the blame for the Signal chat scandal on national security advisor Mike Waltz. The president was asked who was responsible for the scandal while signing an executive order on Wednesday evening.

"It was Mike, I guess. I don’t know, I always thought it was Mike," Trump told reporters before calling the media’s reaction to the scandal a "witch hunt."

This marks a significant change of tune for the president, who blamed someone else for the scandal when speaking to NBC. During the Tuesday phone interview, Trump told NBC that he believed that "it was one of Michael’s people on the phone. A staffer had his number in there."

Why would Waltz have Jeffrey Goldberg in his contact list in the first place?

That's the $64,000 question, and we hear various explanations - including that it was his ass't who added Goldberg to the mix. We may never know the real story.

@AriFleischer
No one is talking about this part of the Signal call, but in many ways it’s the most important revelation.
European Navy ships are militarily incapable of defending against Houthi attacks. A rag tag militia built by Iran is stronger than French, British, etc navies.
Disgraceful

FWIW, Waltz's comment clearly indicates this is not an actual "war plan." If it were, he wouldn't be using non-specific, speculative language like, "Whether we pull the plug or not" or, "Whether it's now or several weeks from now."

I'm sure this is too simplistic, but if someone texts me their contact info stays in my phone or e-mail. Maybe Goldberg initiated contact and his info was there because of that?

Judge in crosshairs of Trump deportation case orders preservation of Signal messages
President Donald Trump accused Judge Boasberg hours earlier of 'grabbing all the Trump cases' for himself, a notion the judge refuted
By Breanne Deppisch Fox News
Published March 27, 2025 5:48pm EDT

U.S. District Judge James Boasberg on Thursday ordered all parties involved in the Trump administration’s leaked Signal chat to preserve disclosed messages, giving him additional time to evaluate the administration's handling of the infamous group chat.

A lawsuit filed by the left-leaning government transparency group American Oversight asks whether senior Cabinet officials violated federal recordkeeping laws by using Signal to discuss plans for a military strike on the Houthis in Yemen.

The chat became infamous after it was revealed that top U.S. officials had inadvertently included Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Golberg for several days of their discussions.

Boasberg said during a 25-minute hearing that the federal government must "preserve all Signal communications between March 11 and March 15," roughly the window of the communications about the military action in Yemen.
