Judging from the Left’s responses to President Trump’s order to wind down the Department of Education, you might be forgiven for thinking the president had just started World War III.

“Donald Trump has officially declared war on America’s students,” Rep. John Garamendi, D-Calif., posted on X.

Kelley Robinson, president of the Human Rights Campaign, responded to the news by accusing the administration of aiming to “demolish the nation’s public education system.”
 

“I’m so mad, I’m spitting mad about this, because it’s hurting the people who can’t vote, children don’t vote!” Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers, said on MSNBC.

Ditching the DOE will hopefully result in reducing the liberal indoctrination of our kids.

Unfortunately, it won't.  Leaving aside programs with names of the form [Affirmative-action-beneficiary-group] Studies, and offices of student life, the College of Education is always the furthest left part of any university campus.  States need to adopt right-to-teach laws that dilute the influence of Colleges of Ed by letting people teach subject areas in which they hold degrees in K-12 schools.
And when they behead your own people in the wars which are to come, then you will know what this was all about.

I was thinking of less liberal indoctrination of our children K-12.  As for the universities -- that becomes another challenge but many kids by then I would hope would have at least some chance to have a sense of where they may lean politically without the continual bombardment of liberal ideology.
