This is a very sore subject for me.  Fact is, we do not protect our children nor have laws in place to deal with perps that abuse children.

Why do I say this?  We have a statute of limitations for bringing criminal charges against folks sexually abusing children.  I actually had a case(while a school board member) where it was 14 years after the fact that a child brought an accusation against a teacher for being sodomized for an entire school year.  Apparently, this teacher picked one boy out each year and made him his boy toy for the school year.

Imagine a solicitor telling you that we cannot alert the parents of his current class, or past classes, in case some unusual behavior was happening with their son.  Could not say a word, or we could have been sued because of the statute of limitations!

As a parent of three at the time, and a son in the other class at the grade level this predator taught at in the same elementary school, I was nothing short of wanting to rip the head off this predator.  I ended up telling the solicitor to tell this maggot to leave or we fire him, not caring a sh*t about the statutory limit.  This maggot wanted $500,000 to leave.

He finally left when we told him, leave or face termination, and we will take our chances in the courtroom.

This is why I am serious as a heart attack, for all sexual encounters on children less than 12 years of age, I believe if found guilty, it should come with a capital punishment sentence, to be carried out in a public city square for all to see.  And anyone in the hierarchy covering up such a heinous act should face the same charge.

When I went to see the shocking movie Spotlight, about the sexual abuse of children in the Boston Diocese, I was shocked at the numbers mentioned at the end of the movie.  Virtually every city in the USA has had children violated by priests.  1 out of 6 priests is a sexual predator in the USA.   And it is a global problem too.  Any way, in the row behind me at the theater sat a couple, and the man had a very teary face.  He told me he was abused by a priest when he was a child.  It was a very heart breaking conversation.

I grew up in the Catholic church, and I was fortunate in that I was never faced with such a challenge.  We were taught that the priest is literally to be revered totally, a man of God standing in Christ's shoes.  No child should have such an experience.

Which brings to mind another movie "The Whistleblower" based on a true story about the U.N. was sex-trafficking young girls.  So we have politicians and the clergy abusing children and on top of that there are teachers and others promoting gender re-assignment. Their innocence completely shattered at a young age.  You are right; no child should have such an experience.

I wish no ill on the current Pope ... just stating my observation that kidney failure can be a sign that his body will fail him soon.

Pretending to have Christian charity in my heart would make me a hypocrite.  Jesus didn't have nice things to say about hypocrites.

If Cardinal Law had not fled to the Vatican (non-extradition treaty with US), there's a good chance that Massachusetts Attorney General, Thomas Reilly, would have pursued criminal charges for child endangerment.

A shepherd is supposed to protect his flock, especially the lambs.  Cardinal Law fed his lambs to the wolves to protect the 'good name' of a morally bankrupt institution - the Boston Archdiocese - and then proceeded to cover it up.

I'll show Cardinal Law as much Christian charity ... as he showed the children abused by clergy ... and a nun showed me when she bashed a classmate's head into the chalkboard because she couldn't figure out the long division equation.  The adults knew better, but maintained a conspiracy of silence to protect themselves, and did not protect the children entrusted to their care.

I save my Christian charity for acts of kindness to strangers in need.

New American wrote a nice article about Jorge Bergoglio's peculiar attachment to Liberation Theology, which is rooted in Marxism. Bergoglio had a long record of being nice and cuddly with Communist dictators worldwide and New American details this quite nicely.

https://thenewamerican.com/print/is-the-pope-a-communist/

Since his election in the papal conclave of 2013, Pope Francis has embraced communist dictatorships and reversed the Catholic Church’s nearly two centuries of stalwart opposition to communism and socialism. ...

See, I said something nice about him. He's a nice communist.

The Pope has been put on a ventilator.

It's all over now except for the praying.  Lets get to making smoke!

LATEST FROM VATICAN: Pope Francis was put on non-invasive mechanical ventilation today. The Vatican has just announced that:
• Today, the Holy Father presented an isolated crisis of bronchospasm.
• This led to an episode of vomiting with inhalation and sudden worsening of the respiratory condition.
• The Holy Father was promptly bronchoaspirated and began non-invasive mechanical ventilation which he responded well to.
• The Holy Father has always remained alert and oriented, collaborating in the therapeutic treatments.
• He is now resting and his situation remains complex.
• In the morning he received the Eucharist, prayed in the chapel, and undertook respiratory physiotherapy.

BREAKING: Pope Francis’ Health Takes a Turn for the Worse With Breathing Crisis – Pontiff Put On Ventilator
by Paul Serran Feb. 28, 2025 1:45 pm

Ailing Pope Francis’ health deteriorates as he has suffered a worrying breathing crisis, Vatican sources reveal.

In his 13th day in the hospital, the pontiff suffered a bout of bronchospasm, with caused him to breath vomit, among other complications.

The Sun reported:

“Vatican insiders detailed the alarming episode, stating: ‘This afternoon, after a morning spent alternating respiratory physiotherapy with prayer in the chapel, the Holy Father presented an isolated attack of bronchospasm which, however, led to an episode of vomiting with inhalation and a sudden worsening of his respiratory condition’.

Medical staff acted swiftly, clearing his airways and initiating non-invasive mechanical ventilation.

‘The Holy Father was promptly aspirated and started on non-invasive mechanical ventilation, with a good response on gas exchange’, the sources confirmed.”

I pray the he is able to reconcile with the Lord and also that his passing be painless.

I pray for the Catholic church as well, they are in dire need of some much need reflection on what is going on within the Church as well as what is happening throughout the world.

Vatican issue major health update on Pope Francis, 88, after he was put on ventilator while battling double pneumonia

Daily Mail
By ELIZABETH HAIGH
1 March 2025

The Vatican has issued a major health update on Pope Francis after he was put on a ventilator while battling double pneumonia.

A spokesperson said Pope Francis has had coffee and read the morning newspapers, in a more positive sign after a setback in his two-week recovery.

Doctors had put him on non-invasive mechanical ventilation on Friday after he had a coughing fit in which he inhaled vomit that needed to be extracted.

Medics said it would take a day or two to evaluate how and if the Friday afternoon episode impacted Francis's overall clinical condition. His prognosis remains guarded, meaning he is not out of danger.

The Vatican said on Saturday morning that the 88-year-old had no further respiratory crises overnight, adding: 'The night has passed quietly, the Pope is resting.'

He had coffee in the morning for breakfast, suggesting he was not dependent on a ventilation mask to breathe, and was still eating on his own.

Late on Friday, the Vatican had said the 88-year-old suffered an 'isolated crisis of bronchial spasm', a coughing fit in which Francis inhaled vomit, which resulted in a 'sudden worsening of the respiratory picture'.

Doctors aspirated the vomit and placed Francis on non-invasive mechanical ventilation.

Pope Francis’ Condition Worsens After Significant Setback

Trending Politics News
By Chris Powell
March 3, 2025

ope Francis suffered two episodes of acute respiratory insufficiency on Monday, marking a significant decline in his condition amid his ongoing battle with pneumonia. The Holy See Press Office confirmed that the 88-year-old pontiff required urgent medical intervention, including two bronchoscopies to clear large mucus secretions from his lungs.

According to the Vatican’s statement, the pope remains under “guarded” prognosis, though he was reported to be alert and cooperative during the procedures. Doctors resumed non-invasive mechanical ventilation in the afternoon to support his breathing, as his condition remains precarious.

Pope Francis’ worsening condition follows a week of hospitalization due to severe pneumonia. While initial reports suggested he was responding to treatment, the recent respiratory crises indicate ongoing complications. His blood tests have not shown signs of infection, ruling out leukocytosis, but medical experts warn that his fragile respiratory system continues to struggle with mucus accumulation.

“Today, the Holy Father suffered two episodes of acute respiratory insufficiency, caused by a significant accumulation of endobronchial mucus and consequent bronchospasm,” the Vatican said in a statement on Monday.

Pope Francis' medical condition stable, no new medical crises

Pope Francis has not manifested any episodes of respiratory insufficiency or bronchospasm. He is alert, without fever, and has cooperated with the treatments. Today, he was switched to high-flow oxygen therapy, and tonight, non-invasive mechanical ventilation will be resumed until tomorrow morning as planned. The prognosis remains guarded.
