Eaton Fire grows, curfew to be implemented

 The Eaton Fire was still raging on Thursday and has grown to 13,690 acres, officials said.

Around 4,000 to 5,000 structures have been destroyed or damaged, authorities said during an updated on the blaze.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna announced that authorities were implementing a curfew for the Eaton Fire and Palisades Fire areas.

The curfew would be in effect from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and could begin Thursday night.

Didn’t Mayorkas state that FEMA didn’t have any funding for Florida, Tennessee and North Carolina?

Where is the money coming from then?

A Los Angeles-area resident accused California’s “liberal political leadership” of playing “Russian roulette” with people’s lives Thursday, citing a failure to prepare for wildfires.

Several ongoing wildfires have rapidly spread across the Los Angeles area, Pasadena and other localities, destroying thousands of buildings and leaving at least five people dead. Attorney and California resident Brian Claypool told Fox News host Harris Faulkner he felt “heartbroken and outraged” after a press conference by local leaders.

“I have to tell you, after seeing that press conference, I am flat out heartbroken and outraged. We are sick and tired in L.A. County of having liberal political leadership play Russian roulette with all of our lives,” Claypool said. “Look at that. Look at these images. This was preventable, Harris, I’m not saying it could have been stopped, but I — I looked on the news three days ago. I have a teenage daughter. You know, I’m a single parent. I’ve got a 9-month old as well with a nanny holed up in a hotel. Three days ago, we see on the news there are winds expected of 80 to 100 miles an hour, Harris. I looked at my teenage daughter and I’m like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ That’s hurricane force — hurricane force winds.”.........................

Joe Biden claimed that Los Angeles fire hydrants hadn't run dry because of a water shortage, but due to power being cut to water pumps because of the killer wildfires.

As of Thursday, seven people have died in one of the most destructive blazes in the county's history, over 10,000 structures are destroyed, roughly 400,000 customers statewide were without power and over 180,000 have been evacuated.

The systemic failures in the deep blue city have led many to wonder how things could've gotten this out of hand - and led many to call for the resignation of Mayor Karen Bass and Governor Gavin Newsom.

Amid furore from critics saying that water was unavailable to fire crews, Biden explained that the problems were self-inflicted to avoid further fanning the flames. 

'What I know from talking to the governor, there are concerns out there that there's also been a water shortage,' he said in a press briefing Thursday.

'The fact is the utilities, understandably, shut off power because they are worried the lines that carried energy were going to be blown down and spark additional fires.

'When it did that, it cut off the ability to generate pumping the water, that's what caused the lack of water in these hydrants.'

In an attempt to rectify the situation, Biden said Cal Fire and other state officials are bringing in generators.

Hopefully in the aftermath of all these fires someone will finally see the sense of spending the extra money to build homes that will survive wildfires intact.

Houston damn near had Sheila Jackson Lee as mayor a couple of years ago.  As Houston's mayor, Sheila would have made Bass look like a supercharged Rudy Giuliani

Kenneth Fire Grows in Woodland Hills as Los Angeles Burns

The Kenneth Fire in the area near Woodland Hills on the southwest side of the San Fernando Valley has reportedly grown since erupting.

According to local reports, the fire near the famous 101 Freeway has spread to over 800 acres and has since been burning toward the south closer to homes. Authorities in the area have called for mandatory evacuations. Per CBS Los Angeles:

    A mandatory evacuation order has been issued for Vanowen south to Burbank Boulevard and County Lane Road east to East Valley Circle Boulevard, the LAFD said. Several evacuation warnings have also been issued for areas that border the fire, according to Cal Fire.

    A water-dropping aircraft quickly responded to the blaze. Firefighters from Los Angeles and Ventura counties are actively engaged in containment efforts, Cal Fire said. It is burning in an area with challenging terrain and low vegetation. Flames are being driven by strong Santa Ana winds.

Bullshit.  Water pressure is achieved by placing a water tank on top of a hill or tower.  Pumps are needed to refill the tank.  But if the tank has water in it, then you have pressure.  Biden is a lying POS.
