Trump White House snubs ex-VP Dick Cheney, offers no condolences on his death
By Steven Nelson
Published Nov. 4, 2025, 2:21 p.m. ET

WASHINGTON — The White House offered no public condolences Tuesday on the death of former Vice President Dick Cheney — saying flags were lowered to half-staff at the executive mansion because the law requires it.

President Trump has repeatedly attacked Cheney, who died Monday at age 84, as a “warmonger” and sparred with his daughter, former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) who served as the top Republican on the House select committee that investigated Trump’s role in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

Both Dick and Liz Cheney endorsed then-Vice President Kamala Harris in last year’s election, with the former VP saying Trump was the greatest threat to the country since its founding.

What was classless were Cheney's repeated attacks on Trump.

I'll say RIP for Cheney but our flag isn't going to be lowered for him.

That's pretty much where I am.  Didn't like how he got picked for VP under Bush2, didn't like how he didn't step down from the 2004 ticket so Bush had nobody to back in 2008.  A fiasco from the get-go

True. Paved the way for McLame to hand the White Hut to the Kenyan Pretender in 2008.

After all the hate from him and his family and especially Liz Cheney's participation in 2 shampeachments, this is not even slightly surprising or unearned.

Dick Cheney did as he pleased, even if it meant violating every rule in the book.  Many contracts were awarded to Halliburton, the company he was formerly CEO of and I assume held huge positions in the company when he was VP.  The problem was they were not awarded according to the existing law.

All federal contracts require competion and the government awards the contract to the lowest bidder or that contractor with the highest evaluation.  That never happened when Cheney was VP.  10s if not 100s of billions of dollars in contracts went to Halliburton, no competition.  IMHO, these actions were deserving of impeachment at the time.

Cheney just did as he pleased, and idiot Bush stood there with his hands in his pockets.

He will not be missed by me.  And I abhor his corrupt daughter.  Any Republican that supported Harris against Trump is no Republican.  He was a soundrel that got away with plenty of crimes in my book!!!!!!!

Suspect in custody:

... Authorities also confirmed that 27-year-old Cedric Irving Jr. was taken into custody early Friday morning around 3 a.m., and was in possession of a gun, a source told ABC7 News. He was apprehended at San Leandro BART station. Authorities had been searching for the suspect since he fled the scene after the shooting at noon on Thursday.  ...

"This was a very targeted incident," Assistant Chief James Beere said during a Friday press conference, adding that the suspect and Beam knew each other and although they weren't close, the coach was "open to helping everybody in our community."

Beere did not elaborate on how they knew each other or why Irving was on campus, saying the suspect played football at Skyline High School but not when Beam worked there. Irving was taken into custody without any altercation and a gun has been recovered, the assistant chief added. ...

John Beam: Deadly shooting of Laney football coach was 'targeted,' police say

https://www.fox32chicago.com/news/john-beam-oakland-police-make-arrest-after-shooting-laney-football-coach

Oakland KTVU FOX 2

Quote
OAKLAND, Calif. - Oakland police on Friday arrested a 27-year-old former football player following the death of legendary Laney College coach, John Beam, who died from his gunshot wounds in what authorities described cryptically as a "targeted" shooting.
...
The news of Beam's death and subsequent arrest of Cedric Irving, Jr., 27, were announced Friday, a day after Beam, 66, was shot before noon in the 900 block of Fallon Street, near the Laney Fieldhouse. That building is adjacent to the college’s football field and houses the school’s athletic facilities and resources, where Beam worked.

Irving was spotted before dawn Friday by Alameda County sheriff's deputy Miguel Torres at the San Leandro BART station, conspicuously carrying two duffle bags, a source and police said.
...
At a Friday news conference, Asst. Police Chief James Beere said that Irving knew Beam, "but they did not have a relationship."

He also said that Irving was not a Laney College student but had been known to "loiter around the campus." Irving had played football at Skyline High in 2017, according to Max Preps, but not during the time that Beams coached there.

Beere did state that Irving was "on campus for a specific reason," and that Beam was "targeted," though he wouldn't say more, as charges are pending.
...
(Embedded picture of Irving)

Approximately 10 hours elapsed between Irving's arrest and when this article was updated. That's being "very cagey"? *****rollingeyes*****

AI says, No, Bruce Willis did not die. The claim that he passed away is a hoax. On November 15, 2025, a Facebook post falsely announced his death, but his representatives confirmed on November 17, 2025, that he is alive and well.
This incident is part of a recurring pattern of fake celebrity death reports, particularly concerning Willis, whose declining health has fueled speculation.

I loved Bruce Willis on the TV show, 'Moonlighting'.

'Die Hard' is a Christmas movie.

My apologies

I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

Does he see dead people?
You don’t become cooler with age but you do care progressively less about being cool, which is the only true way to actually be cool.
