There's Finally Been A Major Change in COVID Vaccine Recommendations In The US

COVID vaccine recommendations are finally set to reflect reality, science, and data
after years of ignoring the evidence in favor of politically-motivated posturing.

That's not hyperbole; it's quite literally exactly what happened with previous
administrators within the FDA or other health agencies. One of the top former
decision makers at the FDA, Dr. Peter Marks, for example, essentially admitted in
testimony before Congress that he set out a target date for the initial full approval
of COVID vaccines based on his own personal panic over new variants and
inaccurate expectations.

In 2024, Rep. James Comer asked Marks about that process, and his removal of
doctors who disagreed with his rushed, fear-driven process: "So why were you
pressuring the doctors, and then removing them from the approval process when
they disagreed?"

"The approvals process was one that needed to move as rapidly as possible," Marks
said.

"The experts" in a nutshell.

Why did it need to move so rapidly? Marks' answer to that was somehow even
worse. And that attitude, thankfully, is no longer part of the FDA.

COVID Vaccine Recommendations A Welcome, Late Change
During that previous testimony, Comer asked whether the hurried approval process
could have been to justify private businesses or government agencies imposing
vaccine mandates. Sure enough, Marks said there was an "acknowledgement" that
full approvals "could allow vaccine mandates to occur."

Marks then set an arbitrary deadline, demanding approvals by August 20th, 2021.
It was then approved, over the objections of several scientists who resigned in
protest, on August 23rd. The military imposed its vaccine mandate on August 24th.

No media attention, no outrage, no condemnation of a rushed, obviously pre-
determined process to achieve the political goals Marks and his partners in the
Biden administration desired. It was a perfect summation of the abuses of the
pandemic era, where health agencies demanded compliance with unjustified
policies. With this week's new announcement, those days are officially behind us.

The update to COVID vaccine recommendations comes as a result of new Trump
administration appointees at the FDA finally turning the agency into a home of
evidence-based medicine.

Years of Fauci, the FDA, and CDC making a mockery of science has taken their toll.
Those years are coming to an end. If only it hadn't taken this long.

Had a chess lesson from a Master on Chess.com. She said something we should all hear.

The lesson was ...
Play strong, be consistent, be careful, and wait. Her advice was most games are won by patience.
She says that in most games the other player will screw up. They are going to make a mistake. Just wait for it.

When you see the opening. When you see the mistake. That will win the game.
Not heroics, not sacrifices, none of that. Her thing was consistency and patience. Just let them play.
(reminded me of: showing up is 90% of any job)

My interpretation of what she said is: DON'T BE STUPID! Just wait, and an opportunity will present itself.
However, being smart enough to recognize and to exploit the opportunity is all on you.

Seemingly realizing her offensive limitations, Angel Reese ostensibly admitted
this weekend that she wants nothing to do with publicly laying enough bricks to
build Clay Travis' next fortress.

Earlier this week, Clay, an old white guy whose game is likely more nerd than
Bird, issued Reese a challenge via social media. A half-court game of one-on-one
televised on Pay-per-view in an effort to raise millions for charity. The winner
would receive $100k, which is more than Reese's WNBA salary.

Rather than fatten the pockets of a charity as well as her own, Reese bailed on
the chance to be a part of what would have been the most-electrifying PPV since
Girls Gone Wild.

On Friday night, Reese blocked Clay on X.

It's the most cowardly basketball-related move we've seen out of Angel Reese
since… well, since last week when Reese flailed her way into a Caitlin Clark
flagrant foul.

The timing of Reese's block is convenient, considering she's much more relevant
on the defensive side of the hardwood these days. Case in point, Clay's offer
came just hours after Reese turned in an offensive performance (disaster?) that
would make a routine Dennis Rodman game look like a Steph Curry masterpiece.
Reese went 0-for-8 from the field, scored just two points and turned the ball
over five times. She did grab 12 rebounds. Though that's slightly less impressive
when you consider eight were on the offensive end of the court, many of which
were the result of her own misses.

While Reese's participation would've been fueled by a combination of
McDonald's, courtesy of her Angel Reese Meal Special endorsement, WNBA
coaches and a burning hate of Caitlin Clark, Clay would've leaned on the tutelage
of his son's 8th grade team.

Advantage, Clay.

You might think the loser in all of this is Reese. And while that's mostly true,
let's not forget that all of America takes an L with Reese opting to sit this one
out. Clay spent the early portion of Memorial Day weekend working on his sky
hook. Now, thanks to Reese, only Clay's neighbors with a view from their
penthouses will be able to admire the fruits of his labor.

Heck, even Donald Trump Jr. had plans to watch Clay and Angel go one-on-one
for six figures.

Just another miss from Angel Reese.

Having parenting in my life resume, I'm still cognizant of the conflict of interacting in public with toddlers and small children.

When I'm in any line, be it a check-out or a check-in to order food, I often catch a child innocently staring/watching me.

My impulse is to smile broadly and/or wave in acknowledge, but being careful not to make the parent uncomfortable.

Most are grateful and unbothered by it, but every once in awhile...you run into a 'Karen'.

It appears Democrats want to see Republicans stay in power forever.

President Donald Trump returned to the White House after crushing Kamala
Harris in the 2024 election. One of the funniest parts of the campaign was Harris
tapping Tim Walz as her VP pick in an attempt to appeal to men.

Yes, Democrats got together and decided the Minnesota Governor - who doesn't
seem to know how to use a shotgun - was the best play to appeal to men.

It clearly didn't work.

Democrats scramble to appeal to men.

Democrats are currently racking their brains trying to figure out how not to get
waxed in future elections. That will require winning back regular guys who love
America and just want to live normal lives.

Their strategy?

Ads in video games.

The New York Times reported the following, in part, on the plan:

The prospectus for one new $20 million effort, obtained by The Times, aims to
reverse the erosion of Democratic support among young men, especially online.
It is code-named SAM — short for "Speaking with American Men: A Strategic
Plan" — and promises investment to "study the syntax, language and content
that gains attention and virality in these spaces." It recommends buying
advertisements in video games, among other things.

"Above all, we must shift from a moralizing tone," it urges.

I honestly wasn't sure if this was a Nathan Fielder prank when I first read the
NYT's report. It's amazing how detached from reality Democrats are.

This isn't hard. Regular dudes just want to be left alone, take care of their
families, love America and watch their football team on the weekend.

Do we really need to "study the syntax, language and content that gains
attention and virality" found in male spaces? I just solved it for Democrats, and I
didn't require a study at all.

The fact placing ads on video games to pitch themselves to men is so comically
dumb that you just have to laugh. I'm sure people playing video games will
*LOVE* if they're interrupted by an ad for AOC or Gavin Newsom.

There was this one time with a pretty thirteen year old girl……..Oh wait, that was a lecherous twenty something staring uncomfortably at my daughter and he decided to stop and find elsewhere to be when I offered to rearrange his anatomy.

I think most people don’t expect the worst from others and appreciate a compliment about their children…….unless you look like Joe Biden.

Just realize how parents today must teach their children not to interact with strangers. And that I can certainly understand the unsettling feeling when they see their child smiling broadly to a 79yr old coot.

Is it a compliment or an invasion of their privacy?
