Some truth to this ... in a way. The nobility and royalty were banging the hell out of their servants. And servants did get pregnant.

To prevent their bloodline being diluted, the power people would either banish them to a land far away, a land of no return, or they would simply kill them.

However, some of them survived. There are normal everyday people today who will never know they have royal blood, that is: royal lineage.
