Quote:
Gun ownership rates haven’t changed much since the 1960s, Gallup pollsters would have you believe. Gun ownership is actually two points lower today than it was in the 60s, the polling giant claims.

No government agency or private firm like Gallup knows how many Americans have guns in their homes, or how many guns Americans have in their homes. The reason for this is simple: American gun owners do not trust the government or private firms like Gallup or Pew Research with their gun data.

It’s actually pretty simple, really.

 tipping hat!!

With the sales of 80% lowers, 3-D printers, and good ol' American Know-how, they don't even know how many guns there are out there.

Which is good.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I have never had a poller call me and why would I tell someone on a unsolicited phone call anything about myself. I have never understood why someone would tell a pollster anything. You do not owe them any information about yourself and it is none of their business!

I once got a census form that went back with a lot of "None of your business" answers. I'm sure I made a registry or two but otherwise never heard a word in response.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

I would also tell them "None of your business" or maybe, they will find out on election nigth or just to mess with them, I might lie to them. Nothing could be better then, them coming up 100% off and wrong on their poll survey.

That Iowa pollster (J Ann Selzer) was off 16% last Nov. and she quit.  :silly:

Well I am glad to see others responded the same as I did to some pollsters. One can bet that the alphabet soup government uses tactics using polls to get easy answers... I usually just hang up on them.

If I don't recognize the number, I let the machine get it. If it's important, I will call them back.
